School diaries: the Smurf village

My second graders are building a Smurf village this week!

During Art class I showed them a simple yet pretty handcraft with a few toilet paper rolls and paper. I designed and printed the houses and roofs and the kids got to color their houses however they liked.

With some glue and sticky tape their little houses were ready!

During our next lesson we are making Smurf figures and trees for our village.

I can't wait to see it finished!!
