Restaurant Hunting and Slow-Pace Walking While Discovering a New Beautiful Spot in Town

As I watched the sun set, I was reminded that tomorrow is D-Day. Although I am so eager to know what's really wrong with me, deep inside me I have this fear that the result might contradict the result that I want. Even though I already feel it, I still have hope that it is not what it is.

I took this the day before my checkup with the ENT. It's been a long time since I last witnessed the sky turn like this. But when I see it that day, it's like a hope for me, a new light that tomorrow I will receive good news. But sadly, nevermind. I already published about that here. So if you are interested in knowing what it is, just check here.

And the next day, at 10:00 am, we are already on our way to look for a vehicle, and exactly at 10:04 we are already inside the Bahaghari Transport bound to Pinamalayan. That's our destination last Tuesday, October 10, for my check-up. I thought the travel would be fast, but goodness, it took us almost an hour to arrive at our destination.

Well, it can't be helped because, on weekdays, a lot of passengers were seeking vehicles, so stopping and picking up those passengers can take a lot of time too. And there's really a lot of them who, even though they have to stand because the vehicle is full already, will still take it.

And here's a selfie of myself. I want to include Mama in the picture, but she said she doesn't want her beauty to be seen in the whole wide world. She knows that I uploaded those photos I took somewhere, which is why she's saying, No, what a spoilsport, Mom.So excuse my face, as I am showing it here. But thanks to the facemask, my whole face wasn't shown, saved by the facemask.

10:59 when we arrive here, and the first thing we have to do is inquire inside the hospital. I'm just following Mama here, as I have no idea where the hospital is located. Mama knows it, so she's the guide here, lol. We didn't walk that long either, and finding the hospital was easier than I thought.

Anyway, I really need to get a number for my appointment check-up. The doctor will arrive at 2:00 pm, they said. We have a lot of time to kill while waiting for the doctor. I just filled out some forms, and even though we arrived early, I still got number 11, so 10 people were earlier than us. But no problem, at least it's not number 18 or 25, right?

And what lovely weather - not so hot and not too gloomy either - just a perfect day to have a walk and roam around and discover every corner of Pinamalayan. After I filled out the form for my appointment checkup, we immediately got outside to start our endeavor outside. Our first destination should be Pinamalayan Park, but then we are already famished, so we decided to look first for a restaurant or a carenderia that sells delicious and affordable dishes.

It's not that hard to find here, as Pinamalayan is also a big place. But wait, I doubt we can find an empty one, as you know, it is weekdays, and students were already out to have their lunch. Let see. So we continue looking around with the hope that we can find an empty one, but unfortunately, those restaurants we saw were all full of students. I'm already hungry, but we still have to walk more just to look for it.

We passed by this shop, but I'm not up for what's available here. I want a full meal, which includes rice. This is not what I want, so we continue walking further. But all I could see was this vastness and the people walking by. Ahhh, my tummy is begging for some meat already, and a cup of rice too. I'm almost dragging Mama in here, as I want to reach the market, where we can find more restaurants than here.

So it's another shop, a thrift shop. I want to stop by even Mama, but my tummy can't wait anymore. Talk about a hungry woman, lol. I mean, it's 11:13 already, I had my breakfast at 6:30 am, just look at the gap, lol. I didn't even take a merienda, as I planned to just look in Pinamalayan, like maybe a milk tea and pizza. But until we finish what we need to do here, we didn't able to buy them. What a letdown, ಠ﹏ಠ.

But anyway, moving on, haha, I saw the terminal for the tricycle, and I just asked Mama to travel by tricycle to get into the market faster. She gladly agreed, as she knows that I'm the one paying. So we rode a tricycle and traveled with it for 15 PHP each. So that's 30 PHP, or $0.53 for two.

IMG20231010113903.jpg

And tadaaaaan! Haha, it's in here, we're already done. I couldn't take a picture of it because I'm really hungry. Getting our orders took about 5 minutes, I think, to be served because there's a lot of customers. It's a good thing that there's still an available chair for us. So we eat and fill our tummies with good food. We're not talking, as we are busy munching our food.

Right after we finished devouring our lunch, we got up and went outside because there were still people waiting and looking for a chair where they could eat. Mama wanted to go visit the market, so we went there. Then we passed by a bakery and saw this mouthwatering bread. Of course, I indulged my craving and got three pieces of Ensaymada ($0.18 each) and six pieces of Yema Tart ($0.053 each).

IMG_20231012_173624.jpg

I love the Yema Tart, by the way. I love the little crunchiness in it and the sweet and delicious Yema topped on it with of course a few peanut on top. It goes well with it, I might say. Mama loves it too.

Moving on, we continue our walk inside the market, and after that, we just let our foot guide us to wherever it wants. We can freely do this even in the open, as the weather is really good at that time. Maybe it's a sign that bad news is approaching us at that time. But whatever, lol. We saw a vendor here that sells different kinds of street foods. If only my tummy is not full yet, I'll buy them too, as I am craving them. But I don't want to overeat, so I just let it pass by to us, and me, who's craving some, was just looking at it intensely.

This side of Pinamalayan is kind of quiet, but on the main entrance of Pinamalayan, it is much noisier and more lively, as most people walk by there on foot or in vehicles. Some are just resting in Pinamalayan Park, while others are just wandering around. This Pinamalayan is much bigger in Bansud, which is why there's more people here and bigger buildings and stores.

Our walk ended up in the Pinamalayan Park. There were only a few people in there, but as time went on, the park slowly filled with students of different levels. Some are even doing some TikTok videos of the trending song, lol. It's fun watching them too. Anyhow, I'll end this here for now.

Having a walk after having your meal is the best, especially if you do it at your own pace. And because the weather was so kind to us that day, we enjoyed it so much. We just slowly walk until we reach our next destination ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ. It would be even better if we have Milk Tea on the hand but sadly, our tummy is already saying no, lol.

Of those foods and our fare to the market? I think it is kinda expensive already but it is accepted as you know all of the goods was now expensive too hehe. As for the fare we got lucky we found a tricycle that sells us $0.53 for two people already some ask for $0.35 each (≧▽≦). As for the average salary here no sure but I think $6 plus ಠಿ_ಠ
