¡Hola amigues!♥️

Debo decir que ser morena y terminar con la piel aún más tostada es un placer que disfruto mucho en el calor del caribe en vacaciones.

Normalmente detestaría pasar por algo así en otra ocasión, pero qué puedo decirles, mi cuerpo estaba preparado para disfrutar de algunos días del gran carnaval.

Aunque hace bastante tiempo que no celebraba, por responsabilidades y bueno, crecer en general, esta vez quise que fuera diferente, así que nos unimos al bochinche familiar.

I must say that being a brunette and ending up with even more tanned skin is a pleasure I enjoy very much in the heat of the Caribbean on vacation.

Normally I would hate to go through something like this another time, but what can I tell you, my body was ready to enjoy a few days of the big carnival.

Although it had been quite some time since I had celebrated, due to responsibilities and well, growing up in general, this time I wanted it to be different, so we joined the family party.

Emprendimos un viaje al pequeño pueblito de Caicara, ya lo he mencionado anteriormente y es que es algo muy nuevo para mí. Mi madrina está encargada de una licorería algo grande allá, así que para estas fechas estaba abarrotada de trabajo, pues se sabe que en los pueblos se jala caña como es y mucho más con la excusa de celebraciones como el carnaval, así que nos fuimos a apoyarla.

Nos pasaron buscando a mi hermano y a mí en una camioneta descubierta y es que de haber sabido nos hubiéramos preparado mejor para este viaje de más de una hora en carretera, pero el estar en shorts y bermudas no nos detuvo.

We undertook a trip to the small town of Caicara, I have already mentioned it before and it is something very new to me. My godmother is in charge of a somewhat large liquor store there, so for these dates, she was overcrowded with work, as it is known that in the villages they drink a lot of liquor and much more with the excuse of celebrations such as carnival, so we went to support her.

They came looking for my brother and me in an open pickup truck and if we had known we would have prepared better for this trip of more than an hour on the road, but being in shorts and bermudas did not stop us.

Siendo aproximadamente las 12 del mediodía, el sol estando en su punto más escandaloso, el viaje se hizo ameno y gracioso, estaban algunos primos compartiendo el espacio con nosotros, también mis tíos, escuchando el popular calipso para ir entrando en ambiente.

La brisa fuerte no paraba de despeinarme, nos burlábamos unos de otros por nuestras formas de intentar que no se fuera volando nada, como gorras, toallas para cubrirnos del sol y las cosas que teníamos que llevar al bodegón, como comida, bolsos y demás.

Being approximately noon, the sun being at its most outrageous point, the trip became pleasant and funny, some cousins were sharing the space with us, also my uncles, listening to the popular calypso to get in the mood.

The strong breeze did not stop ruffling my hair, we made fun of each other for our ways of trying not to blow anything away, such as hats, towels to cover us from the sun, and the things we had to take to the bodegón, such as food, bags and so on.

Viajar es encantador para mí, pues las últimas veces que lo hice fue cuando era muy pequeña como para recordar muchas cosas, así que me hace feliz poder compartir estos momentos en familia y, aunque no es muy lejos que estamos yendo, sigue siendo toda una experiencia nueva y agradable para mí.

Además, ahora sí puedo tomar en cuenta más detalles e irme familiarizando con otros lugares que no sean mi territorio de costumbre, conociendo historias como por ejemplo, no tenía idea de que la popular y gran autopista de esta pequeña ciudad de oriente, La Vinotinto estaba inhabilitada desde hace tiempo por falta de mantenimiento e inseguridad, algo realmente triste.

Traveling is lovely for me, as the last time I did it was when I was too little to remember many things, so it makes me happy to be able to share these moments as a family and even though it is not very far that we are going, it is still a new and pleasant experience for me.

Besides, now I can take into account more details and become familiar with other places that are not my usual territory, knowing stories like for example, I had no idea that the popular and great highway of this small eastern city, La Vinotinto was disabled for some time due to lack of maintenance and insecurity, something really sad.

Pasando por El Furrial, su gran cartel nos indicaba que ya estábamos cerca de nuestro destino. Desde que entrabas escuchabas música por varios sectores, había muchos niños jugando al carnaval y nosotros rogando que no nos mojaran. 🤣🤞🏽

No voy a negarles que fue un poco incómodo el viaje, para el momento en el que llegamos nuestras piernas estaban dormidas y acalambradas por estar todo ese rato en la misma posición, nuestras caras un poco rojas y con la hormigueante sensación que te deja la brisa y el sol, pero pese a todo eso, lo repetiría mil veces.

Passing through El Furrial, its large sign indicated that we were already close to our destination. From the moment you entered you could hear music in several sectors, there were many children playing carnival and we were begging not to get wet. 🤣🤞🏽

I will not deny that the trip was a little uncomfortable, by the time we arrived our legs were asleep and cramped for being all that time in the same position, our faces a little red and with the tingling sensation that the breeze and the sun leaves you, but despite all that, I would repeat it a thousand times.

Finalmente llegamos a nuestro destino, mi querida Caicara de Maturín, pequeño pueblito al que ya le estoy agarrando cariño y conociendo cada vez más.

La fuerte brisa, el cielo azul lleno de esponjosas nubes y el amenazante sol oriental fueron nuestros fieles acompañantes en este viaje y fue genial. ☁️☀️

Finally, we arrived at our destination, my beloved Caicara de Maturin, a small town that I am getting to know more and more.

The strong breeze, the blue sky full of fluffy clouds, and the threatening eastern sun were our faithful companions on this trip and it was awesome. ☁️☀️
