Un tesoro invalorable - A priceless treasure

Tener buenos amigos es poseer un tesoro, y aunque suene trillado es una gran verdad. Los buenos amigos siempre van a estar en las malas y en las buenas.

Mis primeros amigos fueron mis primos pero luego la vida me fue añadiendo personas amigas, de las cuales muchos se han quedado.

Siempre digo que lo más importante en la amistad, es saber conservarla. Eso es así en todas las relaciones y para eso hay acciones que deben hacerse de vez en cuando, como por ejemplo, dejar una tarde para tomar café.

Un día de estos nos reunimos un par de buenas amigas y yo para actualizarnos en información acerca de nuestras vidas. La velada se extendió hasta la noche. Charlamos, reímos, merendamos y por supuesto, tomamos café.

To have good friends is to possess a treasure, and although it sounds trite it is a great truth. Good friends will always be there through thick and thin.

My first friends were my cousins, but then life kept adding new friends, many of whom have remained.

I always say that the most important thing in friendship is to know how to keep it. That is true in all relationships and for that there are actions that must be done from time to time, such as, for example, leaving an afternoon for coffee.

One of these days a couple of good friends and I got together to catch up on information about our lives. The evening extended into the night. We chatted, laughed, snacked and of course, drank coffee.

Renuentes a olvidarnos - Unwilling to forget

Después de mi divorcio me fui a vivir a la casa de mis padres que quedaba lejos de mi residencia matrimonial. Eso significaba alejarme de dos de mis apreciadas amigas con quienes compartía mis más íntimos secretos.

A estas chicas las conocí en la iglesia donde asistía desde adolescente. Una de ellas comparte conmigo actualmente afición por Hive. Se trata de @g2ml, quien tiene un talento innato para cantar y alcanzar notas altísimas y una impresionante habilidad para las manualidades. Mi otra amiga se llama Rudy, es buena para dar consejos, animar y es súper solidaria con sus allegados.

Las tres hemos hecho un lazo de amistad irrompible a pesar de muchas vicisitudes. Este año hicimos un compromiso de frecuentarnos cada tres meses, sin embargo, en lo que va de año, hemos podido hacerlo sólo dos veces.

No es lo mismo hablar por teléfono, hacer alguna videollamada que hacer una reunión de amigas de manera presencial. Ésta última es la mejor porque, a pesar de la pandemia, esta semana pasada nos pudimos abrazar y hablar de muchos temas.

Rudy, la mayor de todas, nos trajo café artesanal molido, el cual puse a colar inmediatamente después que me lo dio. Ella lo vende en su casa y se lo traen del interior del país.

Últimamente en nuestra región se ha aumentado la venta del llamado café artesanal. Debido a la falta de marcas comerciales producto del encarecimiento de la importación, los productores pequeños han aprovechado para vender sus granos de forma libre sin restricción.

Esto representa un peligro para los consumidores en cierta manera porque también hay personas inescrupulosas que en vez de granos de café, muelen semillas de maíz u otros granos para imitarlos.

Una amistad verdadera - True friendship

El café fue aprobado por todas, su sabor estaba bueno y lo disfrutamos con unas galletas crujientes que trajo @g2ml. Se nos hizo corta la tarde y prometimos acortar el tiempo de encuentro para tener menos que contarnos.

Me siento afortunada de tenerlas. Hemos pasado por grandes situaciones y aun así, nuestros corazones se unen. Siento que Dios me ha bendecido con amigas, las considero uno de mis más grandes tesoros.

Vale la pena conservarlas, y si es con café, mejor.

The coffee was approved by all, it tasted good and we enjoyed it with some crunchy cookies brought by @g2ml. The afternoon was short and we promised to shorten the meeting time so we would have less to tell each other.

I feel fortunate to have them. We have been through great situations and still our hearts are united. I feel that God has blessed me with friends, I consider them one of my greatest treasures.

They are worth keeping, and if it is with coffee, all the better.
