Greetings,
Dear Members of scout community, it's my pleasure to writing my first article here as an engagement contest. The topic focus is really thrilling as it offers me the opportunity to do what I love doing.

This Contest aims to bring out the True nature of an individual and with this in mind, I've taken it upon myself to participate.

This story is gotten from an adaptation of the Igdo tribe of victoh land and I hope you enjoy reading...⭐

My First Camping Trip

I remember it like it was yesterday the way the sun shone so bright and the feel of the wind.

Back then life was simple and we were still young ready too eager to experience life, I wonder if things would have been different if we listened then.

But how could we, we were young and youthful, we felt we owned the world and it was ours for the conquering.

In our bid to explore we decide to explore the Ronin woods of Victoh land.

They had been Soo much rumours about what goes on in this woods, we heard so many stories, some Soo unreal we couldn't believe and others that we dared not mention.

If I recall it was on Jan 10th and steemit has just comensed the engagement contest that we should tell a story about a scouting expenditure.

The four of us , i (ronindboss) ,weasell, solexy and Mato decided that this was the right time to finally venture into the forest.

Earlier on we had seen a large group of men enter the forest, on an expenditure to participate in the ritual called the transitioning, we were young so we weren't allowed to participate in this ritual but we always wondered what happens up the hill.

Mato being the smartest of us all suggested that we talk an alternate route to the top of the hill so we can observe what goes on, while weasell being ever cautions warned us against be spying on these men for the rumours we had was enough and he feared what we might see if our planned succeeded.

We all throw caution at the wind as the four of us decided we would camp near these men and observe what happens.

For a while things within the campfire seemed to be normal and we were getting impatient but in order to calm our Nerves we decided to go fetch camping materials from nature's wilderness, inside the forest we noticed something unique there was a chilling atmosphere almost like the life of the living things had been sucked away.

This should have been the first sign for us to exist but we were young and what can I say we wanted the adventure so we went deeper in to the forest the deeper we went the more lifeless the forest became, we began to shiver with fear but Mato was resistant and insisted that we accomplish our mission

After fetching the fire wood and setting up camp close to the men we discussed about, frugal thing such as the beautiful ladies I'd victoh land and which we would love to have as wife when we grew up, solexy being the one with most apitie declared that he would marry 7 women for seven days of the week, we all laughed If we had known this would be the last moment of normalcy in our life we would have laughed more ?.

Just as we were talking we heard a loud shout from the opposite camp by now night had fallen and everywhere was gentle but the four of us climbed up a tree to spy on the opposite camp.

It was at this moment almost like a dream we watched our friend little Stanley being shredded between the teeth a of a bear.

We all stood motionless as we watched the slaughter it almost till this day seem like a fairly tail that we didn't watch little stanley last moment, the bears we relentless they increased in numbers and hovered around the men they grinded bones with Their teeths and ripped flesh like it was water .

At some point we noticed some bears had gotten to the base of our tree and were attempting to climb, in this moment we all looked to our selves and knew the end was near, the Bears were relentless and the tree was cracking due to the weight of us four.

I prayed for a sign for anything as tears rolled down my eyes we were all scared and that's when the unthinkable happened when the tree snapped Mato lost his grip and and got hold of solexy leg there were but going down and solexy did the unthinkable he pushed Mato down to so as not to be pulled down.

As Mato fell the beats in multiple ran to devour their feast, they first ripped his hand off but what was shocking was after that they left.

We all stayed on top the tree till early morning for fear , we got down early in the morning we discover Mato was still breathing.

Without a second thought we ran out of the mountain.

Till this day things have never been the same between the four of us, Mato always blames solexy for the lose of his right arm.

Our brotherhood was broken and we became four youths never to see eye to eye again.

I so much regrets this.
They are alot of things I wish I can change.

But time won't permit me .

I share this story with you to help those young onces who go in search of knowledge be careful what you wish for

Conclusion

This is a tale about some teenage boys who were desperately curious about the forest but ends up splitting up.

We should be careful when we go looking for knowledge as some knowledge are best left alone.
