Rich Pea Soup with Smoked Bone-in Bone, Chicken and Vegetables / Rica Sopa de Arvejas con Hueso Ahumado, Pollo y Vegetales



Hello friends! Today I bring you a recipe that I prepared yesterday Mother's Day. A pea soup with vegetables, smoked bone and chicken. As we were many people, because almost the whole family attended, the ingredients are in large quantities; if you are going to prepare it you have to adjust them.

¡Hola amigos! Hoy les traigo una receta que preparé ayer Día de las Madres. Un sopa de arvejas con verduras, hueso ahumado y pollo. Como éramos muchas personas, porque asistió casi toda la familia, los ingredientes están en grandes cantidades; si la vas a preparar tienes que ajustarlos.




1 kg of peas

1 1/2 smoked bones

1 kg of chicken chopped in pieces

3 kg of potatoes cut in cubes

2 kg of pumpkin cut in cubes

3 carrots cut in cubes

2 large onions cut in brunoise

1/4 kg of chili bell pepper cut in brunoise

1 branch of celery, chopped

1 sprig of cilantro, chopped

2 large heads of garlic

3 corns cut into rounds

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

Oregano to taste


1 kg de arvejas
1 1/2 de hueso ahumado
1 kg de pollo picado en trozos
3 kg de papas cortada en cubos
2 kg de auyama cortada en cubos
3 zanahorias cortada en cubos
2 cebollas grandes cortadas en brunoise
1/4 kg de ají cortado en brunoise
1 rama de celery picado
1 rama de cilantro picado
2 cabezas de ajo grandes
3 maíces cortados en ruedas
Sal al gusto
Pimienta al gusto
Orégano al gusto




Boil the peas in enough water.

In a frying pan, sauté the onion, chili, garlic, half of the celery and half of the cilantro. Add oregano, pepper and salt to taste.

When the peas are ready to soften, add the stew, cook for 10 minutes and then add the bones and the chicken, cook for 10 minutes and add the potato, carrot, pumpkin and corn. Adjust the salt and let it cook until the vegetables are soft. Turn off the heat and let stand for 15 minutes and then serve.

Poner a hervir las arvejas en suficiente agua.
En una sartén, sofreír la cebolla, ají, ajo, la mitad del celery y la mitad del cilantro. Colocarle orégano, pimienta y sal al gusto.
Cuando las arvejas estén para ablandarse, agregar el guiso, cocinar por 10 minutos y luego agregar los huesitos y el pollo, cocinar por 10 minutos y agregar la papa, zanahoria, auyama y maices. Ajustar la sal y dejar cocinar hasta que las verduras estén blandas. Apagar el fuego y dejar reposar por 15 minutos y luego servir.
