#3StepsToday - Waking up early gives me more time to write.
Today is an experiment. Normally in the morning after I have my alone-time before work, I jump right into my work day. Then at the END of my day I write on the Hive blockchain.
Today I'm trying something different.
I decided to wake up early this morning, and go ahead and knock out my post for today and engage people on Social Media BEFORE my day started. I want to see if the engagement on my posts increase if I make them early in the AM rather than late at night. We shall see.
So far it's started off well because I feel motivated, having already watched two training videos and worked on my emails.

My #3StepsToday:
- I watched the CTP Training video "The Mindset Needed"
- I reviewed the stats from the last several emails sent with List Nerds. See any trends?
- I watched Plus 1 Success Day 2 Video: "Make A Mistake"
That was my 3 steps for today. Here's how I did:
1. I watched the CTP Training video "The Mindset Needed"
Jon quotes Roberto Blake (Twitter) in this module, and well, this is a hard lesson.
Want to establish yourself online? Do two things:
- Create 100 pieces of content before you worry about any kind of engagement, likes, etc.
- Create a THOUSAND pieces of content and you are on your want to establishing your voice and earning online.
Wow. 1000 pieces of content.
That seems like a lot until you realize that you can '+1' your way to victory on this. As the quote goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. Your online business is going to take slogging through some real effort to make this work.
With the effort needed being rather intensive, you can expect most people will quit.
That creates an opportunity for you if you keep going.
You'll stand out more if others fall away, leaving you and your efforts there to be seen easier with less competition.
This may sound like a huge amount of effort, but if we focus on just today and work on what we need to make today a '+1' day, then this is straighfoward.
2. Review the stats from the last several emails sent with List Nerds. See any trends?
The screenshot above is my results and click through rate (CTR) for several recent emails. I noticed:
- March 30, my "#FIRSTNAME#, how do YOU grow as a person and a business?" email received 53 opens and 28 clicks
- April 2, the same email was re-sent and received 50 opens and 21 clicks.
- April 10 - the same email was sent again and had 47 opens and 17 clicks.
Here's a preview of the email that's people will see if they open it:
I don't see any issues with the email itself.
Yet there's a downward trend with the number of opens and clicks for this subject.
That can mean that people on the List Nerds mailer have seen the same email from me multiple times and are getting a bit 'blind' to it. Statistically though, these are small numbers so I need a bigger result set before I make a decision.
Before I decide to stop using the email and subject, I sent it out one more time today to see how my results fare. I'll let you know the results.
3. Read Plus 1 Success pdf Day 2, "Make a mistake"
Failure is critical to success. The chances of you immediately making a huge income from your first efforts online are not that good. However, you MUST try.
When we fail or make a mistake, we need to look at what happened and learn from it. That way we can modify our efforts and see how it works out the next time.
This is just part of what happens when you're TRYING. Acting on your goals is what is going to progress you along your journey, whether you succeed or fail.
Over the course of building up my 3Steps.Today, I've made plenty of mistakes. Yet I now have a domain, business idea, curation account, and have earned a nice little stack of crypto from my efforts.
None of that would have happened unless I tried.
