Un helado solo para chicas/An ice cream just for girls 🍦😋

Hello gente, qué tal estuvo su día? Por estos lados tuvimos que volver a la rutina de manera forzada, porque aunque muchos aún estamos sobrellevando este proceso de duelo por lo sucedido en Venezuela el 24 del mes pasado se llamó al inicio de clases por sólo 7 días, lo que me parece una total estupidez pero digamos que en este país ese tipo de cosas es de lo más normal y ya lo veía venir, pero no es de eso que les quiero hablar hoy sino de un tiempo especial con mi niña Miranda el día de ayer.

La cosa es que Matías se iba a reunir con unos compañeros ayer y yo tenía que llevarlo a casa de uno de ellos, y Miranda fue conmigo a acompañarme y de regreso a casita se me ocurrió pasar por Rattan a mirar los precios de las pinturas para su habitación y por supuesto aprovechamos que en Rattan venden unas barquillas súper ricas y pedimos una de chocolate para mí y una twin (chocolate/mantecado) para Miranda y nos sentamos en la parte de afuera en un lugarcito al aire libre.

Aprovechamos para conversar mientras disfrutábamos de nuestras barquillas y del clima súper fresco que había en ese momento, lo que la verdad me estaba haciendo falta porque desde los terremotos en Venezuela he estado bastante decaída y muy triste por todo lo que está sufriendo mi país, así que este pequeño momento no solo sirvió para fortalecer los lazos con mi niña, sino que para mí fue algo terapéutico, además, si hay algo que aprendí de todo esto es que la vida es un ratito, y que son estos momentos los que realmente valen la pena.

Hey everyone, how was your day? Around here, we were forced to get back into our routine, because even though many of us are still coping with the grief over what happened in Venezuela on the 24th of last month, they announced the start of classes for just 7 days—which I think is completely stupid, but let’s just say that in this country, that kind of thing is totally normal and I saw it coming, but that’s not what I want to talk to you about today—I want to tell you about a special moment I shared with my little girl, Miranda, yesterday.

The thing is, Matías was going to meet up with some friends yesterday, and I had to drive him to one of their houses, and Miranda came along with me. On the way back home, I decided to stop by Rattan to check out the prices of paint for her room, and of course we took advantage of the fact that Rattan sells some super delicious cones—we ordered a chocolate one for me and a “twin” (chocolate/peanut butter) for Miranda—and sat outside at a little outdoor spot.

We took the opportunity to talk while we enjoyed our ice cream cones and the super cool weather at that moment, which I was really missing because ever since the earthquakes in Venezuela I’ve been feeling pretty down and very sad about everything my country is going through, so this little moment not only helped strengthen my bond with my little girl, but it was also therapeutic for me. Besides, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from all this, it’s that life is fleeting, and that it’s these moments that are truly worth it.
