Hello foodies, I hope you're all doing great!! I'm back with more recipes—yesterday, after several hectic days, I was finally able to be home for lunch, and to make up for my absence, I decided to whip up something special: chicken stroganoff. It's the perfect choice for a unique, gourmet lunch without the hassle of a long preparation process.

This is a super delicious, comforting, easy-to-make dish that features several of my favorite ingredients. I love mushrooms and heavy cream, so for me, that alone made it perfect, but the combination of garlic, onion, and margarine really takes it to the next level, resulting in a super silky white sauce that brings together the flavors of each ingredient. So, if you have chicken breasts in the fridge at home and want to give them a whole new twist, let’s get started on the recipe!

Procedimiento/Procedure
The first step in preparing today's dish is to cut the chicken into strips, trying to make them as uniform as possible. Once cut, place the chicken in a bowl, add salt and pepper, and massage it a little so that the salt and pepper are distributed evenly.

Next, heat the oil and margarine in a skillet over high heat. Once hot, cook the chicken strips, being careful not to overcrowd the pan so they sear rather than boil. As you can see, I didn't let them brown to keep them from drying out, since I wanted the chicken to be nice and juicy. Once it's ready, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.

In that same skillet, we'll sauté the vegetables, so we'll reduce the heat to medium and add the finely chopped onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft, and then add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and let them cook for five minutes.

After five minutes, add the wheat flour and mix thoroughly. Next, add the chicken broth (I made it with dehydrated bouillon cubes) and gently scrape the bottom of the pan with a wooden spatula to loosen and incorporate all the flavors from the bottom of the pan. Let it cook for 4 minutes, then return the chicken to the pan.

Immediately afterward, we reduce the heat to low, add the heavy cream, and stir everything together thoroughly. We let it simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes so the sauce reaches that creamy consistency we love so much. Just before turning off the heat, we add the finely chopped cilantro, adjust the salt to taste, and that’s it. Our dish is ready to enjoy.

At home, we served it with mashed potatoes and sweet plantains, and it turned out absolutely delicious, but one of the great things about this dish is how well it pairs with almost any side dish; so you can serve it with white rice or over your favorite pasta, since the sauce "coats" everything so well.
It’s an excellent option for a delicious, balanced meal without spending too much time in the kitchen. Go ahead and give it a try at home—it’s really worth it!
