Hello gente creativa de Hive, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien! Para el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un tutorial bastante sencillo como siempre. Se trata de unos aretes largos de cristales de swarovski, y en esta oportunidad la base de nuestros zarcillos va a ser un pin, pero redondito como los que usan las bebés por primera vez, ya que me pareció que se verían muy lindos, además para tener variedad en los diseños es bueno utilizar diferentes piezas.

Hello creative folks at Hive, I hope you’re all doing well! Today I’d like to share a tutorial with you that’s quite simple, as always. These are long earrings made with Swarovski crystals, and this time the base of our earrings is going to be a pin – but a round one, like the ones babies wear for the first time, as I thought they’d look really cute. Also, to add variety to the designs, it’s good to use different pieces.

Estos zarcillos combinan dos cosas que a mi me gustan mucho, y son: el brillo y los coralitos por su color súper llamativo, y por cierto en esta oportunidad no son cilíndricos, sino en forma de rombo. Otro toque distintivo de estos aretes es que estoy usando cristales de swarovski transparentes y blancos, en dos formas diferentes, ya que tengo en forma de rombo y también tengo dos cubos pequeños, y ahora sí, sin más vueltas vamos con el paso a paso del día de hoy.

These earrings combine two things I really love: sparkle and coral beads, thanks to their striking colour. And by the way, this time they’re not cylindrical, but diamond-shaped. Another distinctive feature of these earrings is that I’m using clear and white Swarovski crystals in two different shapes: I have some in a diamond shape and also two small cubes. And now, without further ado, let’s get on with today’s step-by-step guide.

Paso a paso/Step by step

Para la elaboración de estos aretes vamos a utilizar 3 piezas diferentes, y la primera con la que vamos a trabajar va a ser el cristal de swarovski en forma de cubo, y para armarla vamos a necesitar 2 aros decorativos, un alfiler de ojo y el cristal.

Lo que haremos, será pasar a través del alfiler de ojo un aro, seguido del cristal cúbico y, finalmente, otro aro decorativo, y cómo siempre, al tratarse de conectar piezas, vamos a crear en el otro extremo nuestro "ojito", para lo que cortamos el excedente del alfiler de ojo dejando aproximadamente 1 centímetro o un poquito menos de 1 centímetro, seguidamente con la pinza redonda ubicada en la punta de el alfiler, vamos a girar sobre sí misma hacia adentro creando de esta forma el aro.

Este mismo procedimiento lo vamos a utilizar para cada pieza que vaya a necesitar conectarse con otra.

To make these earrings, we’re going to use three different components, and the first one we’ll be working with is the cube-shaped Swarovski crystal. To assemble it, we’ll need two decorative rings, an eye pin and the crystal.

What we’ll do is thread one ring onto the eye pin, followed by the cube-shaped crystal and, finally, another decorative ring. As always, when connecting pieces, we’ll create our “little eye” at the other end, for which we cut off the excess length of the eye pin, leaving approximately 1 centimetre or slightly less than 1 centimetre; then, using the round tip at the end of the pin, we’ll twist it inwards, thus creating the loop.

We’ll use this same procedure for every piece that needs to be connected to another.

La siguiente pieza que vamos a crear es la que aporta un toque de color a nuestros aretes, y para ello vamos a utilizar 3 aritos decorativos, un cristal transparente y nuestro coralito, además de un alfiler de ojo.

El orden en el que vamos a trabajar es el siguiente: a través de el alfiler de ojo, hacemos pasar un aro, seguidamente el cristal transparente luego otro aro, a continuación la pieza coral, y finalmente otro aro, y como en este caso no vamos a utilizar esta pieza para conectarla a otra, vamos a cerrarla, y lo que haremos es cortar medio centímetro aproximadamente el excedente del alfiler de ojo, lo doblamos hacia adentro con la pinza redonda y cerramos con la pinza plana presionando para cerrar completamente el aro.

De esta pieza vamos a elaborar dos, una para cada arete.

The next piece we’re going to make is the one that adds a splash of colour to our earrings, and for this we’ll be using three decorative rings, a clear bead and our coral bead, as well as an eye pin.

The order in which we will work is as follows: thread a ring through the eye pin, followed by the clear glass bead, then another ring, next the coral piece, and finally another ring; and as in this case we are not going to use this piece to connect it to another, we will close it, and what we’ll do is cut off approximately half a centimetre of the excess from the eye pin, bend it inwards with the round-nose pliers and close it with the flat-nose pliers, pressing to close the ring completely.

We’re going to make two of these pieces, one for each earring.

La siguiente pieza que vamos a crear es básicamente igual a la anterior, la única diferencia es que en esta oportunidad vamos a utilizar un cristal transparente seguido de un cristal blanco y para la elaboración de esta pieza, vamos a seguir el mismo procedimiento de arriba, y de ella vamos a elaborar cuatro, dos para cada zarcillo.

The next piece we are going to make is basically the same as the previous one; the only difference is that this time we are going to use a clear bead followed by a white bead. To make this piece, we will follow the same procedure as above, and we will make four of them – two for each earring.

El siguiente paso es unir las 3 piezas que hicimos por cada zarcillo, y para ello vamos a necesitar una argolla pequeña. y lo que hacemos es simplemente abrir el extremo en forma de aro de cada una de las piezas y la hacemos pasar por la argolla, para finalmente cerrar con la pinza plana, asegurándonos que queden bien cerrados para que no se nos salga ninguna pieza.

The next step is to join the three pieces we made for each earring, and for this we’ll need a small ring. All we do is simply open the loop-shaped end of each piece and thread it through the ring, then close it with the flat-nose pliers, making sure they’re securely fastened so that no pieces come loose.

Una vez hemos terminado con este paso estamos listos para armar nuestro arete, y lo que vamos a hacer es comenzar conectando al pin la pieza cuadrada, y para ello vamos a abrir un poco el arito y hacerlo pasar por el orificio del pin para finalmente cerrarlo.

Once we’ve finished this step, we’re ready to assemble our earring. We’ll start by attaching the square piece to the pin; to do this, we’ll open the hoop slightly, thread it through the pin’s hole, and then close it.

El último paso es abrir el arito inferior de la pieza del cubo para seguidamente conectarlo al aro que tiene nuestros 3 dijes de cristales, cerramos con la pinza plana y de esta forma tenemos listo nuestro par de zarcillos que como ven es muy delicado, y por supuesto, muy bonitos además de fáciles de hacer.

At this point, all that remains is to attach the clasps. What we’ll do is attach a small ring to one end of the bracelet and do the same at the other end, except that at this end we’ll also thread through our clasp. And with that, our bracelet is complete; it has a lovely design, consisting of different pieces that complement each other perfectly and create a very dynamic look.

El resultado es una pieza muy linda, y a mí parecer muy delicada y elegante, y lo mejor de todo es que es muy sencilla de elaborar y la puedo hacer a mi gusto. ¿Qué más puedo pedir?

The result is a really lovely piece – and, in my opinion, very delicate and elegant – and best of all, it’s very easy to make and I can tailor it to my own taste. What more could I ask for?
