Bangkong kolong, or better known as amphibians, are animals that have the ability to live in two different environments, namely on land and in water. This ability makes them a unique and interesting species to study.

Amphibians have very flexible bodies and can adapt to their surrounding environment. They have moist skin and no scales, so they lose water easily if they stay in a dry environment for too long. Therefore, amphibians are often found in humid areas, such as tropical rainforests or swamps.

One famous example of an amphibian is a frog. Frogs have the ability to breathe air through their skin, so they can breathe both on land and in water. Apart from that, frogs also have long and sticky tongues, which they use to catch their prey quickly.

Amphibians also have a unique life cycle, starting from eggs that hatch into larvae, then become pupae, and finally become adults. This process is called metamorphosis, where amphibians experience very striking changes in body shape and structure.

Even though amphibians are unique in their ability to live, unfortunately their population is currently experiencing a significant decline. This is caused by various factors, such as climate change, habitat destruction, water pollution, and excessive hunting.

Therefore, the protection and preservation of amphibians is very important. Conservation efforts must be undertaken to ensure the survival of this species in the wild. Apart from that, education also needs to be improved to increase public awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity, including amphibians.
