Yes...there are those LAs that flopped so bad because yeah, the filmmaker failed to really incorporate the essence of the anime they're adapting. For me it's not really a problem if they change some scenes, as long as it doesn't completely mess up the plot and also the character. Opposite to the LAs you mentioned, there are a considerable number of LAs that left a nice impression on me. FMA, for example—that movie really convinced me to give the anime a shot. It sounds weird, but I discovered the live action before the anime itself. The LA of Kingdom, Rorouni, City hunter, Yuyu hakusho, My happy marriage, Hana-kimi and the Chinese and Taiwanese adaptation of Hana yori no Dango! ...I enjoyed those LAs also, and recently the adaptation of One Piece as well >v<
