My tired eyes are slowly burning! (If you've never heard the band, The Tear Garden, give them a listen!!!)

Wednesday morning. Most of this post was compiled yesterday. Time is weird in text. Watch this.

10,000 years ago, we sat on a rock by a river and said, “When’s the morning paper going to be invented?”

Time in text is weird... Normally, time just happens, and we don’t have to think about it (unless we’re late for an appointment.) When writing, though, time gets all sticky and rubbery and it tastes funny. (Try not to eat it. Not FDA approved.)

Can you tell I’m still tired? I should go back to sleep for a bit... Maybe, after I finish this post, I’ll take a nap. Only TIME will tell. (But Time is GREAT at keeping secrets!) Here’s some artz!

"Something's Working"

I know this to be true (as, for example, with the Constitution or a religious text or a manifesto... [all the same thing, really...]) This is my experiment with this type of work. (Not only does the artwork have "mystical" properties, but I really like the texture that the layered elements bring to the aesthetic as a whole! Just my opinion, but I'm the ARTIST paying to mint this piece, so my considerations are key (at this point.) Follow me?

"Channeled Entity"

[Felt pen over previous work on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] Consciousness is an electrical phenomenon, and (like most electrical systems) it can be over-ridden by a more powerful field. Such is the case with Craig - The Mighty Imp from the 17th Dimension! Craig borrowed my body once so that he could use my phone to contact a satellite dish repair technician to come fix his receiver. (Apparently the services in his dimension are MUCH more expensive than they are in ours...)

[Photograph of a discarded cigarette package with digital embellishments, colors, and words.] A day or two ago, my wife and I were packing a car full of recyclables to a recycling collection station when Mariah spotted this empty packet of Lucky Strikes on the ground. As fans of pop artist, Ray Johnson, we are well aware of his massive collection of "Lucky Strike" collages. This piece also answers the question: Do they still make Lucky Strike cigarettes? (Recently enough that the cardboard package hasn't completely melted in the Northwest rains yet!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool) & Mariah R. Yates (aka: The Boss!)

P.S. - If you haven't seen it yet, try to track down the documentary film, HOW TO DRAW A BUNNY, about Ray Johnson. It's brilliant and well worth the effort!

[Ballpoint pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color!] I watch a LOT of ghost hunting shows, and it always amuses me when folks HUNTING for ghosts get scared and scream and cuss and run away when they hear a noise or see something that they think MIGHT be the thing that they're attempting to find... (Would I do any better?)
