"DAY 17

Hey folks! (There is a high probability that the "folks" I'm referring to here are just ME in the future.) How many peeps in the house are familiar with the term "prose-poem"??? It's an odd amalgamation of language games and sound transcription. Eeee-ooooooo! I probably don't do it correctly, but that's okay with me. The funny thing about being and anarchist at heart is that you only follow the rules that you impose on yourself, like the idea that I'm going to post a new TYPED.ART entry every day, even if I haven't got anything to write about!

Prose-poetry is a lamp-post on a dark night with two bulbs burned out. The night watchman, drunk (naturally), slips on his boots and goes to investigate, then slips (still inside his boots) on an icy patch, clungs his head on the metal lamp-post, and suffers a severe concussion. (One of the apparently burned out bulbs blinks to life as the watchman tumbles, then POPS into darkness with a definitive sizzle as the man's skull meets the aluminum post. Darkness falls across the sidewalk as the light (of consciousness) leaves the watchman's eyes and he enters COMA-TOWN... He would not recommend this particular destination as a fun travel spot...)

The writer as sculptor. The reader as participant. The platform as publisher (though, at best, a vanity press). The internet as psychic substrate, connecting minds to minds. This is the game we are currently playing....

Talk to you again tomorrow?!? (We'll see!) Lurking... Always lurking in the shadows...

"DAY 18

Life sometimes knocks you on the head. Sometimes hard enough that you don't get back up. My wife lost someone yesterday, and she just got a call that a family member is probably going to expire in the near future... (In the face of horror, sometimes gallows humor is all we have left.) Still doing my daily writing assignment, but it's not as funny or inspirational as I would have liked it to be... Bonk, bonk...

Those of us that CAN get up need to get up and keep going. I'm not just playing Pollyanna here. I've lived long enough that I know you have to keep going even if the excrament has collided with the oscillating air mover. Hopefully, tomorrow's entry will be more entertaining...
