"23rd Nervous Breakdown" by FEH (PP) & RFY (HF)
[Felt pen, paint pen, liner pen, and crayon on construction paper with digital embellishments and color manipulation!] A monstrous collab between my granddaughter, Felicity, and me! For those who might be new to the "collab with a pre-schooler" game, she primarily attacked the left side and I assaulted the right. Our styles are not entirely similar (but I'm learning!!!) ---Felicity Echo Hanson (Preschool Potentate) and Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Spastic Enigma" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Colored pencil and liner pen on paper with digital embellishments, moshing, and color freeping!] The DATA were horrifying. We knew that it had all gone wrong, but nobody could say exactly how it happened. Someone was going to need to tell Rose what happened to her husband, but it sure as SHIT wasn't going to be ME! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Happiness in the Not Knowing" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Love Attempts" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Mixed media collage over found image with digital weirdness and a half-pint of creepiness...] What the funk kind of fortune is that to get inside of a cookie??? Somebody was quitting their job soon, I'd wager! Ian Curtis forever! Weird monsters for-even-longer-than-that! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"I Know What I Saw" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen on paper notecard, back of book, and sticker collage on my old notebook with digital embellishments and color tweaking!] Don't tell me it wasn't REAL! I KNOW what I SAW! Well, yeah... But only a few beers...And a couple shots... And some bong hits and LSD and just a few mushrooms... Yeah, but I still SAW IT!!! Jackass... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Holy Fool Magic (21 Sep. 2023)" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Typing in Notepad. Screenshot taken. Modified in Paint.] I wrote this bit as part of a morning typing free-write... A "free-type" if you will... I am often pleasantly surprised by where my brain ends up on these wandering journeys. ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Lethargic Lamentations by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
21 Sep. 2023
+++++++++++++
Time is money.
Money is the root of all evil.
Therefore, Time is the root of all evil.
I'm sure that I'm not the first person to construct this simple syllogism, but (as of the time of this writing) I am the most recent. If there is a lesson in any of this, I'm sure most people won't perceive it until it's too late. (I know that I won't, at the very least...)
+++++++++++++
Do you know how I try to keep myself sane? I make the bed on days where I don't necessarily HAVE TO. This extra act of ORDER in the face of ENTROPY means something to me. It means I'm still alive. Which reminds me: There is a line in a song by Prince (the song is called "My Computer") where Prince sings, "No, I ain't dead yet. How 'bout you?" But.... But now he is dead, except I can still hear him singing that he AIN'T DEAD YET, which is weird and spooky and kinda sad, but in a good way. The idea is that Prince (the body) may no longer be moving around and doing things, but Prince (the creator) DID things, and now we have them to enjoy and interact with and contemplate. Is that MAGIC?

I'm thinking about doing more "short form" posting again, stuff like single images that aren't meant to point at anything larger, just be themselves... Is that WRONG of me? Do I care if it IS wrong??? Hard to say... I've intentionally tried to avoid stuff owned by Zuck and Elon-gated Ego man, but am I just biting my own arm off for NOT using these popular platforms??? (Twit, Instagram, Threads???) I still don't use TikTok, either, but I'm also not convinced that I WANT to use it...
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
There will be more. However, I've been told that LESS IS MORE. So, there will be less, which is more... I don't know. I think I made myself dizzy...
Later!

I drew a very silly thing a few days ago, and I sent that drawing to a silly man, and he wrote a silly poem in response that made me laugh in a silly voice! The way it all should be!
The image in question:
The response:
"Brother Mayan Mike and the Rosebba Stone"
The archeology professors gathered
around the great rock.
It featured a picture of a Mayan,
and the rest the censors would block.
Mayan Mike simply wrote, “Hey”
but included drawings most foul.
They were graphic enough
to make a sailor scowl.
The anthropologists tried to hide
their shock and dismay
that such an important culture
would depict anatomy this way.
The drawings were all of one thing,
not suited for polite discussing
It featured these graphic images,
along with Mayanish cussing.
“How could we identify
with drawings so crude?”
thought the scientists –
I mean, these images were quite rude.
Then the experts took a bathroom break
and went into the stalls.
They sat on the commodes
and stared at the walls.
Suddenly they had an epiphany.
Together, simultaneously, at the same time:
Mayan Mike’s drawings matched the restroom walls.
A cultural connection that was, indeed, sublime.
The professors then took out their Sharpies,
And added their own graphic gems.
They were Mayan Mike
And Mayan Mike was them.

"This is the Life!" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen and felt pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments, drawing, and color.] Written and drawn while Mariah and I were sitting poolside in Ashland, Oregon. Weeks later, I added the digital embellishments, cuz that's the kind of thing I enjoy doing! This is a JOYFUL piece... (Don't you agree??) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Hopefully, you folks enjoyed that show. If not, sorry! There's a lot of weird shit out there (and I only made a teeny, tiny bit of it!) If you look hard enough, you'll find it...or you'll make it yourself! Either one works!!!
Later!
