"DAY 69
Nobody kisses on the first date, do they? (I haven't had a first date in over 30 years, but I'm assuming that my experiences still hold.) Sitting in bed with a heatpad on my back, cuz I need it. Day 69 of my forced writing project. Friday. I had too much sugar today. (The doctor told me to cut the sugar out or SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES... But is a life without milkshakes REALLY a life???) It's cold. (Both as a fact of life and as a temperature in this room!) At least we get to sleep in tomorrow!
(Already 8:36 P.M.!?) That sucks...
Tomorrow we have an outing planned. My social anxiety is cruising high at the moment. Hopefully, it will be more fun and less not fun. I think I've just been so freaked out lately that I want to have a couple of days to chill (without medical shit or emotional shit or mortality creeping in the window...)
Still making lots of artz. Not certain if anyone else cares, but that's okay. I'm making for the joy of making. (Selling is boring.) Joy should counteract anxiety, but my neurosis is STRONG... (The DARK SIDE, for sure.) Monsters and ghosts and snakes and bunnies and suns and moons... These are my usual subjects. They probably mean things, but we can't know FOR CERTAIN what the true meaning is... (We don't question. We just enjoy.)
Haptic. I'm super bothered by physicality. (The doctor upped my meds, but I'm not comfortable with increasing the dose. Don't want to lose my "creativity," which some might call my "craziness.") Haptic knick-knacks. Twitchy, touchy... I also don't like people standing behind me. I have one friend (haven't seen him in a couple years, but I still count him as a friend) who thought it was hilarious to slowly walk behind wherever I was sitting and just hover. For a long time, he was a bingo caller at an old-folks' facility, cuz he said the old grannies had the best pot... We live in a weird world...
In other news, my computer died on me for a while this afternoon. The battery has been essentially non-functional for years, but now the charging cable (which I always have to keep plugged in) has started to randomly "disconnect" on me. If this happens, I have seconds to spot it and snake the cord around until it reconnects, otherwise the laptop just clunks dead... Then I have to work to resurrect it, which isn't easy, especially if I haven't figured out where the kink in the electrical flow is yet... GOSH!
Knee knay knigh know knew.... Couldn't think of anything more clever to say...
Later folks!

"DAY 70
Met with humans today. We (the group) are putting together an exhibition of postcard art which will be up in the Koth Gallery (in Longview, Washington, USA.) for a month starting April 1st. I love postcards, but being out of the house all day means that I got little done (art wise) today. Fine.
All work and no play...
More noise tomorrow!!!

"DAY 71
Have you ever wondered what an OFFICIAL "holy fool" reads? (Probably not. Why would a fool read? So he can find new things to not know about!) I'm one of those kinds of fools who keeps a list of what I've read, although a book or article or whatever only makes the list if I FINISH reading it. (No cheating!) Here's my most recent chunk 'o readin's:
---22 Jan. '23. Finished rereading this:
Sedlmeier, Cory (ed.). Atlas Era Tales to Astonish Volume 1. Marvel. 2018. (Individual issues originally serialized from 1959 to 1960. Good, fun, cheesy monster stories written primarily by Stan Lee and illustrated by a ton of different folks, including Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Don Heck, etc. etc.)
---Also 22 Jan. '23. I reread:
Thompson, Jill. The Dead Boy Detectives. DC Comics. 2005.
---28 Jan. '23. Finished rereading:
Lacatski, James T., Colm A Kelleher, and George Knapp. Skinwalkers at the Pentagon: An Insiders' Account of the Secret Government UFO Program. RTMA, LLC. 2021.
---31 Jan. '23. Finished rereading:
Tezuka, Osamu. Astro Boy Books 1 and 3. Dark Horse Manga. 2008. (Collects comics originally published from 1960 to 1975.)
---2 Feb. '23. Read this:
Endo, Tatsuya. Spy x Family. VIZ Media. 2020. (Originally serialized in Japanese in 2019.)
---7 Feb. '23. Finished rereading:
Powell, Thom. Edges of Science. Willamette City Press. 2015. (Psychic bigfoot stuff! Great fun!)
---13 Feb. '23. Finished reading this horrible, awful, racist, colonial-minded piece of shit of a book. (Disgusting. Not recommended.):
Rogers, L.W. Elementary Theosophy. Theosophical Book Concern. 1917. (Utter bullshit.)
---17 Feb. '23. Finished rereading:
Sedlmeier, Cory (ed.). Atlas Era Tales to Astonish Volume 2. Marvel 2018. (Individual issues originally serialized from 1960 to 1961.)
That's what I've stuffed into my head in the last month or so. Some great stuff in there, and at least terrible piece. However, I am of the opinion that it's important to read opinions that you DON'T agree with, as well as those that you do. This helps keep you sharp and teaches you to evaluate based on the evidence being presented by the author (even with fiction!) I love reading supernatural / paranormal texts, but I also eat up the skeptical books that refute the entertaining stuff. (Seems important to me. There's nothing in the world more DANGEROUS than certainty!)
K.O. folks! We'll see you on the flip-flop!!!

"DAY 72
I was born in 1972. Doesn't seem that long ago to me...
Mariah is sitting in bed, drinking tea, and watching some western-leaning t.v. show. I'm mostly watching it, too. I'm not usually a fan of the western genre, unless there's ghosts or it's played for farce. This one isn't particularly funny at all... (Not as funny as Apple Dumplin Gang...)
Jeeze. I'm sitting with a blanket on my shoulders, a heat-pad on my back, and a laptop on my lap. (Funny place to put it!) Doot doot!
I've been looking online for a new laptable / lapdesk (since I'm usually sitting in bed or on a couch or on the floor...although it's harder to get up off the floor than it used to be...) Seems like it might be useful, especially if it allows me to do things like READ and DRAW. Those are my favorite things, ya know: reading, drawing, writing, listening to tunes, too (although that doesn't need a lapdesk.) LAPDESK. Strange thing to even think about! If I did like most of you folks (who were NOT born in 1972 or before), I would write and draw and read all on the computer, but I don't. I like to hold the pen in my hand and feel the smear of the oil pastels across the paper. Drawing digitally is okay, and I do occasionally create that way, but I think my art is more wild and interesting if I start with physical media...
Jah jah jah! Tomorrow is another day!!!

"DAY 74
Time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin'... (Steve Miller Band, obviously...)
I don't know. I don't. I'm not even going to pretend.
I wonder if my wife has come home yet. She went to zooombah with our younger daughter after work, and I've been hiding in the bedroom, so I'm not sure if she made it home. I should probably go look... That would be the right thing to do...
+++++++++++++
She's home now. (Don't let anyone tell you that being a neurotic is no big deal. Being full of fear and anxiety all the time can kill you!) Hooray!
Make sure that you are kind to the freaky people you know. They are suffering, even if they are making you laugh with snarky humor!
+++++++++++++
SLAM BANG WOOOOO! WOOOOO!
+++++++++++++
Here's a question: Given that I write (primarily) for entertainment and pleasure, and complicated by the fact that I love Dada-like jibberish and nonsense, would it be possible for an A.I. to emulate my writing style. (For better or for worse, my written voice is distinct, including spelling errors, punctuation anomalies, and quick trips into nonsequiturs and abstraction...) One might counter with this: Who would WANT an A.I. to emulate your writing style? And that is a valid question, but only a meanie would ask that. Don't be that kind of nasty entity.
Enough junk for tonight. Maybe more tomorrow... Perhaps!
