La práctica de la observación de nosotros mismos hecha con sinceridad nos permite constar esta verdad. Esa es una de las razones por las cuales siempre estamos en búsqueda de la felicidad. En un momento deseamos una cosa, luego deseamos otra cosa distinta; lo cual depende del yo que tiene el comando de nuestra mente en un momento dado. Tales deseos y ambiciones fugaces son como los fuegos artificiales lanzados en la noche, una vez que explotan su luz resplandece por un instante para dejarnos nuevamente en la oscuridad.

Ouspensky's Fourth Way points out that our personality is made up of several selves, that we do not have a single self, but rather one that we are composed of a multitude of selves, therefore we experience a series of contradictory desires; in other words, we are not integrated. The practice of observing ourselves done with sincerity allows us to see this truth. That is one of the reasons why we are always in pursuit of happiness. In a moment we want one thing, after a while we want something else; which depends on the self that has the command of our mind at a given moment. Such fleeting desires and ambitions are like fireworks launched at night, once they explode their light shines for an instant to leave us in darkness again.

La razón por la que esto sucede se debe a la falta de unión con nosotros mismos. Esto genera emociones que son incapaces de brindarnos una satisfacción genuina y se produce por nuestra falta de conciencia. Siempre estamos en busca de algo que mitigue nuestras inquietudes, calme la insatisfacción y llene nuestro vacío interior; lo cual no es otra cosa que la manifestación de esa división en nuestro reino interno de nuestra personalidad. Pero hay una salida a esta situación, que es trabajar para lograr la unión con nosotros mismos. La solución existe, pero debemos comenzar por admitir y aceptar que realmente no sabemos qué es lo que realmente nos hará felices. Observe cómo la insatisfacción que genera la búsqueda de ese algo desconocido roba nuestra energía y tranquilidad, demanda constantemente nuestra atención

The reason why this happens is due to the lack of union with ourselves. This is generates emotions that are incapable of providing us with any genuine satisfaction and it occurs because of our lack of consciousness. We are always in search of something that mitigates our restlessness, calms dissatisfaction and fills our inner emptiness; which is the manifestation of that division in our internal kingdom of our personality. But there is a way out of this situation, which is working to achieve union with ourselves. The solution exists, but we must begin by admitting and accepting that we really don't know what will truly make us happy. Observe how the dissatisfaction generated by the search for that unknown robs our energy and tranquility, constantly demanding our attention.

Don't let the dissatisfaction you experience turn into hurt and dejected emotions that keep you from moving forward in this job. Trust your essence, search within yourself what your soul's desire really is. This is like clearing a weed patch. Observe with objectivity those selfish, vain, irreverent desires for your inner advancement; remember that you must lighten the load. Don't be distracted by the satisfaction of this wishful thinking; remember that you have better things for your life and work for them. Deny them the attention they demand of you. Go ahead regardless of the temporary void created by not knowing anything about your happiness; remember that this feeling of emptiness will pass if you persist in your purpose of discovering what your soul desires and for which you are in this world.

Comience por preguntarse que desea usted verdaderamente, ¿qué es lo que en realidad usted desea en su vida?
