QUESTION OF THE WEEK 9.2 - "If there is a God why is there so much suffering in the world?
speaking of God i think it would depends on the religion we find ourselves in, Unlike me, i am a Christian and whenever i pray to GOD almighty, he answer's my prayers.
My GOD is a merciful GOD, at times he overlooked our trespasses not because he knew not what to do but because he is showing us mercy, Humans being causes sufferings to one another not GOD himself, because GOD would not want anyone to suffer in any way, the sufferings we see in the streets, on the roads and in our daily activities is as a result of our nonchalant abilities, (ignorance), just like a father, if a child behave in a way that he doesn't like, he would not be happy with that child and would be looking for ways to correct the wrongs doing of him and make him see reasons why he should not be stubborn.
GOD loves us just as he loves himself, Because he created us in his own image and the sufferings in the world today, all happens as a result of disobedience, when Adam disobedience GOD and allow the serpents to fool Eve which lead him to eat the fruits from the forbidden tree, even as that, GOD sent his son JESUS CHRIST to come and dies for us and wash our sins away, if not for the fact that JESUS CHRIST, the Son of GOD came and died for us and cleans our sins way, where would we have been today, the sufferings would have been more than this and more than what we are facing in the society today, if not he came and die for our sins, humans would have been living like animals and be doing anyhow, without the fear of GOD the maker, he came and tame the world in a better way as he want and ought us not to be living our Life's like people without conscience.
Check for Instance when someone knows what he does each and everyday is productive, surely he would be blessed abundantly with productivity, i still remember an adage which added that, "as you dress your bed, so would you lay on it", to be living abundantly and freely, you adopt freedom and to be living a life free from sufferings, you must first of all, do away with suffering and put your life straight, aim for betterness and put your life on it, honestly, the life we lived is one that needs to be look up to, so i think we should be praying each and everyday to our GOD to come heal our world, restored our land's and make us lived in peace and harmony, never a day that passes that i would never pray that prayers, because i believe that prayers can do the undoable, prayers can moved Mountains, just as it happens in the Bible.
we needs to be our brothers keeper and we need to put on food on our table for our brothers and sisters to come join us, i believe together we can make this world a better place for us to lived in.
May the good LORD have mercy on us all.

Although I am not a practitioner of any religion, I deeply believe that this divine essence is far from desiring our suffering, we are the ones who provoke it, that is why I share many of the ideas that you present here.
