Russia is incredibly dependent on Western technology. This is particularly true when it comes to military technology. Russia won't be able to produce anything because it outsources so many critical parts starting from ball bearings, precision machining tools and microchips.

Car parts are in short supply. Buses and trains won't run when parts run out. Software updates won't be forthcoming. That will leave critical systems vulnerable against cyber attacks.

Uralvagonzavod has may stopped tank production altogether due to lack of components.

It is not smart to wage war on the West when you have stored most of your gold and your foreign currency reserves in the West and when your military industrial complex is dependent on critical components made in the West.

What they hell were they thinking?
