My view is the "real" witnesses shouldn't of had a secret meeting to hardfork Justin Sun stake.
The excuse, its ninja mined stake doesn't go over well with me because the Steemit inc. (neds) stake has been around for years and the time to fork it was long ago not after someone paid millions for it.
I have yet to see any legal document saying the Steemit Inc. stake was not suppose to be used for voting. So far I read claims of "promises" that Ned wouldn't use the stake for voting. That doesn't mean Justin Sun needs to follow that same path.
Thoughts on pontential toke swap: Steemit is not STEEM and anyone can offer a toke swap. Its up to each individual if they would want to swap their tokens or not. I see no issue here at all expect people over reacting to it.
Thoughts on STEEMIT potentially moving to Tron: Steemit is not STEEM and Justin Sun bought Steemit, he can do what-ever he likes with his own property.
Thoughts on the exchanges voting: possibly the worse thing to happen out of this whole situation. Not a good look for the exchanges.
Conclusion: its a messed up situation that was likely caused by the current "real" witnesses jumping the gun and implementing a soft fork based on the decisions of 65 Steemians (the amount of hand picked steemians invited to the secret metting before the softfork took place).
Where do you stand on the current issues?
I think that Justin's poor communication and misleading statements caused the panic that ended up with the soft fork. He should have managed the transition much better.
The witnesses acted to protect the decentralization and security of steem because they saw it threatened by Justin's statements. It was clearly communicated though that it was a temporary measure until he clarified his intentions. Sure, quite aggressive and Justin's point of view is somehow understandable.
I agree with you that there is no legal document so it would not stand in court. I think that from a legal perspective Justin is in favor. The real a**hole in all this is Ned.
I think the exchanges didn't even fully understand what was happening. Or maybe they did and after getting all the steam changed their mind.
I'm not sure where I stand, I understand both sides but would like to see the elected witnesses to keep governing the chain. Justin should still help steem grow to make a profit out of it. Not easy to predict what will happen though..
