Just about 24 hours ago Splinterlands general sale for Chaos Legion Booster Packs went full force. Before we get to the nitty gritty lets give a brief introduction of Splinterlands. There is no better way to do that than with the Splinterlands very own Introduction Video. As for Chaos Legion, if you are reading this you likely know what Chaos Legion is but in the off chance that you don't: Chaos Legion is a set of NFTs that are used to play the game known as Splinterlands. These NFT's have real monetary value and can be traded on the official Splinterland market and other secondary markets such as PeakMonsters.

As noted, Chaos Legion General Sale is underway and has been for about 24 hours. The total amount of Chaos Legion Booster Packs for sale was 15 Million. This is a massive increase from the previous NFT set known as UNTAMED. In fact its ten times as much as UNTAMED which had a 1.5 million Pack max supply. The drastic increase from set to set is due to the massive player increase the game has experienced between each set. It took UNTAMED over a year to sell out its 1.5 million pack supply. It has taken Chaos Legion just 24hrs to sell almost double that amount.
That means almost 6.5 million packs have already sold. To break that down a little further and give background on that 6.5 million pack sale: (1) *One Million was sold at presale (2) *Two Million was sold at general sale phase one (3) the majority of the rest sold in just the past 24 hours. If I'm being fully honest, less than one million packs sold at presale and less than two million packs sold at general sale phase one. These are some massive numbers. Sales do seem to have slowed down a little but make no mistake about it Chaos Legion Packs are still flying off the Splinterlands virtual self. How long will these packs last(?) Who knows, not me but I can already feel the excitement that is bound to come when Chaos Legion Booster Packs availability shrinks to one or two million. Officially: 2,109,682 packs sold plus 231,746 bonus packs awarded within 24 hours for a total of 2,341,428 sold packs..

A little over 24 hours ago I announced a giveaway for a Free Chaos Legion Booster Pack. The giveaway itself was a prediction contest that gave four options to the participants to choose from. Options two and three ended up being the clear favorites. Options two (3-5 Million CL Packs sell within 24 hours) had a total of 34 votes. Option three (1-3 Million) had a total of 29 votes and are the group winners of the prediction contest. Choices one (Sell Out) and four (Under One Million) got just 5 votes each. Lets see who the random number generator chose as the winner.

I think a little over 2.5 million sold before the general sale so about 3million or so packs sold in the 24 hours since the general sale went live.

Yes I seen it just moments ago when I was reading the official Splinterlands post. Thanks for sharing the image here in the comment section, That card is a beast. Looks like we will be getting three dropped cards in the upcoming days (never a dull moment with Splinterlands). I didn't end up with as much CL packs as I originally planned to purchase but I'm happy with what I have.
I'm also happy that CL didn't insta sellout as it gives us all the opportunity to get more in the upcoming weeks. I think our new choice will soon be, (1) Do we purchase direct from Splinterlands or (2) from secondary markets for discount packs?

That's a good question. Until CL sells out we should be able to buy packs for a good price on secondary. I need to figure out what the "good price" is first before I jump in.

That is a lot of packs sold but I think the speed of it selling out will drop after a few days. I think most people who were planning on bulk buying have already done so. Now it will just be people who raise funds and buy normally.
