Hi Foodie.. my name is Renata, this time I want to share a little recipe with you. Hopefully it can be an inspiration for those who like to cook. this time I will give a little recipe about SOTO MEDAN, this is one of the favorite foods of people who visit Medan, and not all regions in Indonesia provide this, I hope you like it.

The raw materials we will use are:

  • one chicken
  • Coconut
  • celery leaves
  • leek
  • garlic onion
  • hazelnut
  • ginger
  • lemongrass, bay leaves
  • turmeric
  • salt & flavoring

what to do (1);

  • as usual, we have to wash the chicken that we are about to cook clean
  • then blend the candlenut, onion, garlic, ginger, and turmeric
  • then cut the lemongrass and celery leaves
  • after that, blend the coconut, then squeeze it to produce the coconut milk

what to do (2);

  • the spices that we have blended, stir-fry until cooked
  • after the spices are cooked, enter the coconut milk that we squeezed earlier, after the coconut milk boils, immediately enter the chicken that we cleaned earlier, wait for 15 minutes then remove the chicken
  • after we remove the chicken from the coconut milk, then fry the chicken in hot oil

what to do (3);

  • after the chicken is finished frying, then shred the chicken and put it back into the coconut milk, then add the sliced celery leaves and spring onions. Soto Medan is ready to eat.
