The Architectural beauty of the oldest mosque of the town.
What if I told you, I don't like this remodeled design of this mosque. The reason is, after remodeling, it doesn't seem like the old mosque anymore, it gives a different and new vibe which I don't like anymore.
Maybe because I have some memories attached to it or maybe we should better preserve our history and old structure in a better way.
This mosque is built-in 1873. It's located in my home town at Rangpur- Bangladesh. It was built by Muslim saint HajrotMaulanaKeramot Ali and the name of the mosque comes after his name. He came to Rangpur to spread Islam. After his death, 30 may in 1873 beside his tomb the karamotia Mosque was built.

I'm sharing an old photo of the mosque from Google to show you how it looked a few years ago. I was pretty surprised seeing the remodeling.

That's why I said in the first that I don't like the remodeling anymore.
Anyway, this mosque is very popular around the area. People come here for special prayer days, during festivals from nearby districts. Also, the yard is like a homeless shelter. Many street beggars, homeless sleep in the yard or near the mosque and no one disturbs them.
You may not know that usually, mosques don't have any place for women's prayers, they are only for me. But this mosque has a long tradition of having a separate prayer place and restroom for women. Many take this opportunity to visit this religious place.
Also, the tomb of HajrotMaulanaKeramot Ali is there so people come to visit that too.
The rectangular-sized domes mosque was constructed according to the Mughal architecture and local beautiful craft. Its internal size is 42′-0″*13′-0″. The Width of the east-west wall of the Mosque is 3′-3″ north-south wall is 2′-10″. The high of the masjid is 18′-0″ from the ground. The domes were built over an octagonal drum size platform. In the lower part of the domes, there are Marlon designs.
But I guess all these changes after remodeling.
This is the front gate.
It used to be white in color and looked gorgeous. But now it looks like an abundant place. I guess they will plaster and color it again in a few months.
Also, there are many new luxurious mosques in the town so people are not any more attracted by its old beauty. Usually, they visit this mosque because of religious perspective or because of nostalgia.
The outside boundary wall looks almost like a new building. I really miss the old structure.
This is one of the tourist attractions of the town too. And as it's attached to our religious belief so people never forget to visit this place.
This time I didn't enter the mosque so couldn't share the indoor images. The indoor is well decorated and still look the same as before. That's the good thing.

If the image gotten from google was how the mosque looked before it got remodeled, then I also prefer the old one.
Yes, that's what I always feel. And was pretty shocked seeing this new building this time.
I kinda love the old look of the mosque compared to it's new look. The old look to me would bring back those historical memories of how buildings were made in those days and in such situations all I'd do is just awe and enjoy every historical story the building holds.
That's the reason I was shocked seeing the mosque this time. It now looks like every other building.
It's the way the heads love it but they really weren't considering it's traditional origin and history. To me, if I'm to go touring, I love visiting places that look ancient and get so many traditional historical story attached to it.
Looks like some kind of mix between Turkish, Arabic and Russian architecture. Indeed interesting. Greetings from Hungary.

Because people from different walks of life have varying personal opinions about architecture, it's simply a subjective matter. As for the sacred building you've presented here, you've expressed your dislike for the mosque's latest renovations as opposed to its original architectural character. Aside from the historical value and your cherished experiences of nostalgia for the old mosque, what design elements and other features do you wish were not changed?

To be specific, I loved the domes and white color. Now after remodeling and reconstruction it looks like a totally new structure to me and a very modern looking.
Anyway, it is the same oldest mosque and carries the same religious value.
