Attracted to 'Working Class'!

(Edited)

Both of my parents did 9-5 jobs. Now we are doing the same, not only that our grandparents also kinda fall in the same category.

People say, aww...you didn't manage to get off from the working class, become rich and live a comfortable life!

I mean, yeah that's true.

But you have to know that if I ever wanted that, right?

I have heard it from so many after marrying my husband; why him? He doesn't have a house or car on this name, he couldn't afford many things, I could easily choose others over him. I asked this question so many times to myself too after confronting the same again and again. But in the end, I can proudly say that I never feel guilty for my choice.

I'm attracted to the working class, the hardworking people, the hustler who are fighting daily in their life.

I find it extraordinary and fascinating to see those who are in a continuous fight in life, struggling in many ways, and still carries the same value.

Both of my parents did Government jobs, I have seen how they used to refuse different unethical work offers. It made me realize over time how important it is to maintain an ethical standard, never compromise with the values we carry and pass them to the next generation.

Quote unquote, I'm not saying who is living a comfortable life is anything bad. It's just, I would probably always choose the working class over them. It's something personal, don't feel offended by this.

When I take local transport for some work reason or when I walk around the street, I never ignore but notice the faces of the people that are working beside the street, pulling the rickshaw...They have a different face, a face of struggle. The sweat, the hard work says many things about them. I can see their eyes are telling thousands of stories. Maybe life is not treating them good but they are finding a way to fight and survive.

The same goes for us as well...

I follow a renowned photographer named GMB Akash who shares thousand of stories about the daily hustle life of the working class through his photograph. It always fascinates me to see how different we are but still the same.

I wish I could convey the message to them that they are not alone in this fight. Maybe our struggle looks different. But there are many like me, who prefer this struggle rather than having a comfortable life, who finds it more rational and meaningful way of living, who things that we can learn and contain more by doing so.

Maybe our struggle would not end very soon, maybe our next generation would also be a working-class but I would never feel bad about it.

If only, if only "society" and its people understood this.

They will never and I'm bothered by it. Let them die thinking working class is a slang.

I am doing a 9 hours/day job. That is my way of living and I am satisfied with this, Alhamdulillah. However, sometimes I feel that those who are not involved in a time-bound job are living a more comfortable in their life. Just my thoughts.

Yes, they are. You can give me as an example. But I respect those who are doing hardwork out there, making others life comfortable. I'm more attarcted to them rather who life more comfortably.

Very heart touching apu, though i don't like to do work much. But for running a happy life people need money, for getting money we need to work. If both husband and wife work together,it becomes easy for the family

Never hate work, this is what give us living, make us feel alive.
There's no shame in sweat, it makes us, the working class stronger.

The rich people I've come across so far, they work 24/7; where we, middle-class work 9-5. And none of those rich can enjoy their life to its essence. There is always something manipulating their behavior, their approach, and most importantly, spending.
While we can enjoy a cup of tea right from a roadside stall, they can't. Society doesn't expect that from them and so, being too social, they act to entertain others, keeping their souls empty deep down.

I can't disagree with you on this point.
My saying was, with wealth people can buy comfort. Also, not everyone who got money finds it fascinating to do cheap things like having food from street carts. Maybe occasionally it can happen, but that's still an occasion.
There's a difference between physical and mental labor. I do the second one so I know being 24/7 active (as you said) is a hard job. I quoted on my post, I don't contradict the value of the wealthy but this is just me who feels more along with the working class. And, yes being able to spend the time as I want is another reason why I would prefer my middle-class life over being wealthy.
I hope you understand.
Thanks for putting your thoughts in. Have a great day.
