An exceptional Feast with 'Hilsha' fish.

A piece of flavorful fish with steamed rice, that's all I want to fill my 'deshi' heart!

Hilsha is a delicacy in Bangladeshi cuisine. It's a fish you would not find anywhere in the world but here. It's so flavourful and soft in texture, perfectly goes with a rice meal. Hislah costs more compared to other local fish. But it's almost like a ritual to eat Hilsha during different special occasions.

Recently I had the chance to visit the place where we can get fresh Hilsha from the river. The fishermen sell them fresh at the riverside, there are many restaurants that offer Hilsha feast with rice, mashed vegetables, deep-fried eggplants, and more. It's a perfect place if you are looking to taste something very authentic from our cousin.

Let me share my experience.

fresh Hilsha fish has been processed in front of us.

We have been to the Mawa Ferry Ghat - a renowned place to find fresh hilsha fish. Here's the place link - [//]:# (!pinmapple 23.473578 lat 90.273799 long d3scr)
It's a one and a half hour ride from the capital city. There are some restaurants where you could buy the fish, they will process the fish in front of you, cook it instantly, and serve it fresh within half an hour. Also, they have different other curry options that you can choose from.

Then they will fry the fish and the eggplants in front of the customers. Also, you can provide them extra to fry the fish with mustard oil. The aroma of the frying will make you feel more hungry for sure.

It was so difficult for us to wait because of this. But don't worry, they only take half an hour or less, and after serving you will feel the wait is worth it.

Then comes the red chili!

We love extra spice in everything, so why not some extra fried crunchy chili with the rice!

Another best part of this feat is, that they offer to have spicy mashed with the tail of the fish. They use a good amount of onion and chili. And believe me, it tastes so good.

They also prepare this mash in front of the customer.

And this is our main meal.

Deep-fried hilsha fish, eggplant, and tail mash. We also took some other mashed vegetables, lentil curry, and soft drinks. After our lunch, we had some rice pudding and yogurt. Our total meal costs a little over $50, which is not much compared to the food. It was a worthy experience.

While writing this, I'm feeling hungry again. I can surely say if I get another chance to have a feast like this I will grab it.

Have a good day, everyone.

This looks so yummy even though I hate eating fish of any kind. I still love the look and I think I'm perceiving the aroma from here. 😅. Nice one @rem-steem
