50 Years and...

We as a country became half a century old. It's nothing much as a country probably but for us, it's a freedom for more than 50 years. That's a lot.

We are proud, yeah. But there is something that always bothers us. Many people say, we have to pay collateral damage for anything like even development. I don't know why I can't agree with you. From my point of view, we are progressive on infrastructure development which is easy to eyewash but we are far away from actual development as a nation.

I know, you will say, "See, it doesn't take you a minute to start criticizing your own country. You are not a patriot."

Am I? I believe we are neutral people who can see black and white with clear eyes.

One thing I must mention about the development in the medical sector, girl's education, child marriage; overall sustainable development goals. It's a huge achievement for Bangladesh. And sustainable development means there are a lot of good things coming in the chain.

However, if you look at our socio-political culture, our social development, educational development, etc it will give you a different picture. And to be honest, no matter how much we progress without addressing these we can never go ahead in a healthy way.

And about addressing, nowadays it became like a strategy or I would say propaganda to eyewash by not addressing the real problems rather throwing some figures, some numbers. I mean, general people never check the numbers; if they are right or wrong. They don't understand how GDP growth doesn't impact our economical life.

But one thing we all understand is what's going on in our life.

There's a phase of frustration going on among the majority of us. We who are not connected with any kind of power play, politics and all can see the clear picture from a distance. It seems like darkness is coming to capture us all. That always makes me fearful.

Yes, I'm proud, I feel good to mention I'm from Bangladesh. But all these things make me alarmed for our future. I wish and pray people who are in power as well as 'we' would be more careful about our actions as a nation.

I personally believe that it is incredibly patriotic to criticise your own nation to try to make it better. There's always room for self-introspection and improvement.

Thanks for saying so. Our political situation made it such a culture people scares to talk about these in public. Like I would never say so on Facebook or other popular social media because maybe the authority will take action for that.
But all this makes the path more difficult to develop as a nation. We all wish to get things better, it can be better.

This is more of a success to Bangladesh as a country and to you @rem-steem, congratulations to you 🥰, it is really good to know when a country is making progress in all spheres, looking through the photos, makes me see the beauty of it.

It really borders me so much to see how people in power focus on infrastructural development other than human development. I really do hope we all come to understand this someday.

I enjoyed reading through, I hope this get to wider audience who will really read through, thank you for sharing.
