GANESHA PARK, One of the most attractive garden at Bandung Institute of Technology.

This week is a holiday moment for me after having mid exam last week, so since I have a week off from campus, I decided to find some unique destinations to release my stress from regular activities. The first one is Ganesha Park (as we can see in the picture below). The main gate has an Engineering monument that has a beautiful design that symbolizes all branches of Engineering sciences at Bandung Institute of Technology (local people usually call it ITB or Institut Teknologi Bandung in Bahasa).

This is the main gate of ITB. There are lots of wonderful buildings inside but I think I will only share about Ganesha Park in this post. As our information only, ITB is the best institute in Indonesia. Currently, it is ranked #=281 and #13 in Asia based on QS World University Rankings 2024.

Alright, Now let's deep dive into the Ganesha Park. Once we enter the gate, we will come across descending steps as shown in the picture below. On the left and right side, we can see so much grass and green plants that are pleasing to the eye. Many people as well as students come here in the afternoon just to relax or chit chat.

At the front center we can see the monument inaugurated in 2014 by the Chancellor of ITB at that time, Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D. It says that the construction of the Ganesha Garden is a form of collaboration between ITB (alumni class of 1971) and the West Java provincial government. So it is one of the great contribution which has huge impact to the society.

As we walk further, we can see circular area where some events (e.g. from elementary students) are usually held. The children often sing a song and also dance there which gives visitors an amusing shows. It is also a part of the architecture design which makes the park more attractive. All the colorful flowers are very well arranged and they are planted around the circular area. So Amazing in my opinion!

My next stop is the seats which are built pretty gorgeous. This is a shelter for everyone when the rain comes. Many couples also use this place to enjoy their time together since it is very calm and peaceful. There are many huge trees provide oxygen and block the high intensity of sun shine. I would like to ask my girlfriend to visit this place and talk a lot of things, :).

There is also a pond where the visitors can see many kinds of fish as well as aquatic plants. Several kids sometimes bring fish food from their home and feed them all. In this area, we can also see numerous plant species planted at pottery on the wood floor.

The last part of this park is the second circular area but it is built with three level of descendent steps as we can see in below picture. So I think people can sit at the stairs while watching the shows performed at the center of circular area. There are so many places here where people can have great time along with their beloved people.
