LOH#85 -CRITICISM; YAY!! Or NAY!!?
This weeks #ladiesofhive community question one
How do you handle corrections or criticisms from other people?
There are a whole bunch of different types of criticisms;
- Constructive criticism
- Destructive criticism
- factual criticisms
- Negative and positive criticisms etc.
Everyone has an opinion, that is one thing I have learnt in this life.
No matter what you do, someone somewhere has a contrary opinion, someone somewhere feels he or she knows better, someone somewhere feels it’s his or her duty to correct you or caution you.
With the use of internet these days, it is most rampant. Opinions and criticism flying left right and center. Most which are usually unsolicited.
Let’s know what criticism is first of all
criticism is the appproval or disapproval of an action or a person based off on personal perceived faults or mistake, it is a judgmental view one has concerning another persons actions or inactions.
I am one who fancies the idea of constructive criticism, personally I feel it is a means to grow and better oneself and craft. I recall when I just started selling banana bread, I made a few samples and gave some to my friend and my husband to taste, their opinions helped me because i used them as my market audience and their feed back helped me know what and what I needed to correct in my recipe. The next batch I did, I also gave them and they told me where and where in the taste and consistency I had improved and I took notes and knew what to adjust in my recipe.
That is an example of constructive criticism. Now I won’t take what they say bad about my product too seriously because they politely told me, ohh it’s not moist enough, it’s too sweet m, am not feeling the banana in it, I think it’s to salty etc, they were actually helping me because I sort their opinion and I needed them to criticize it like they were actual buyers of my product.
Nowadays bullies are all over the internet dropping unsolicited destructive criticism. I saw a mother of four kids cry and disable her social media account because other mothers kept coming for her, telling her how and what to do with her kids. It was overwhelming the amount of criticism this mother got in a daily basis about her parenting style. Her comments section was always a sore sight, other women imposing and criticizing her efforts as a mother, there were also persons who dropped their opinions respectfully and with regards for her but some other people were so hateful and destructive with their words and she couldn’t take it anymore she disabled her account.
She isn’t the first nor will she be the last person to be met by such fate on the internet. The world seem to have lost the ability to mind their business or respect boundaries with other peoples life and so a lot of destructive criticism will continue to fly around the internet.
My mother would say there is a way you can tell someone to go and burn themselves they will take it to heart and actually go and burn themselves and there is a way you can see someone walking into fire and you can use words to draw that person back.
If your true intent is to correct a persons action or inaction, then do it respectfully with love. Take my niece for example, if you correct her in disdain or shout at her, she would do the same thing again and again, she doesn’t regard your shout or scold, but I notice when you sit her down and explain to her why whatever you are correcting her about isn’t right and why she shouldn’t do it again, she heeds faster and more to pleasant advice then shout. To me thats how criticism is, when you make use of harsh, wicked or hurtful words in a bid to correct someone or pass your opinion, you are doing more harm than good.
Personally I do not like destructive or negative criticism, and if you pass it to me, I will give you back harshly and disrespectfully, I will come for you so hard, you would regret ever dropping your opinion in the first place. I don’t keep Silent to destructive criticism because some of them can be born out of jealousy or hatred so when you bring it to be I will oblige you and remind you that I am not the type of person to mess with.
Everyone makes mistakes, but we should all learn to give our opinions or advice where it is sort and even if we feel the need to drop an opinion or advise or criticism it should be constructive and done with respect for the persons feelings and on love.

They literally have attempeted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
Funny thing is that the ones with destructive criticism..will tell you that they don't see it like that, it's looks all normal to them, how they command and impose their opinions..
It's takes common sense to know when and when not to drop opinion or criticism... Just small common sense..but these days looks like luxury 🙄
Common sense is not that common again
I like me a no-nonsense woman who has no problems putting people in their place. I completely agree with you because people be moving mad with their lack of boundaries and unsolicited opinions.
Criticism are great because they help us grow like you’ve written, but there’s always a right way to do everything and your mom spoke nothing but wisdom.
Thanks for the invite, and good luck. 🌹
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yay or Nay indeed :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts @reineesmay on how you sort out criticisms and respond to those that do harm you. Sometimes people can be really mean without realizing how their words could ruin lives. I feel sad for that Mom you talked about... Hope she wouldn't take it to heart whatever she may have read from others.
I really hope she is okay and maybe the break off social media will help her mental health

Realizing similar or even worse mistakes I could've made in people's shoes humbles me whenever I'm tempted to give destructive criticisms. And I hate it myself so why subject a person to the same.
Some people need to learn that love does much more than harsh words with less stress sef. All that negativity can even affect the health 😂
Exactly
Negativity affects the mental health
Thanks for stopping by
