CATCHING FLIGHTS AND NAUSEA!

So yesterday I made a short and fast trip to lagos,
yes ooo lagos people I am in your city
For the next one week.
I actually didn’t know i needed I change of environment till I arrived at my sisters house yesterday. It was refreshing being in another environment and scenery. I usually do not like to stay away from my house because I am never comfortable in other people houses, but my sisters house is different, this is a place I am familiar with, I stayed with her all through my serving year and also when she was about to give birth to her twin babies(I know I have a story on that).
What brought about this trip?
I’ll tell you.
So basically I came to lagos first to accompany my sister to a wedding she needs to attend by all means today. Her kids nanny lost a family member and needed to go for a burial in her home town and she would be away for a good number of days.
She left like two days ago. My sister on the other hand has a wedding to attend today the 30th of April, and taking two toddlers alone to such event can be really tasking, so she needed my help and pleaded with me to come have the long over due visit I Have been promising her I would make.
For almost a year plus I have been making plans to come visit her in lagos but business and my unwillingness to leave my comfort zone always makes me have a change of heart and take a rain check on making the trip. But when she called last week literally begging and giving many reasons why she needs me to come visit her, and coupled with the fact that she would be on a two weeks work leave this period, I asked hubby for permission and he obliged, although I really needed him to say
’no don’t go’
but he was glad to dispose of me quickly (Lol, he is sure missing me already,I know).
With husband man’s permission and my sister pleading and promising me a fun week, I checked my work schedule to make sure I have no event for this weekend and next weekend, the only business that would suffer would be my parfait and bakery business but I am sure my customers can bear with me for a week. After doing all the necessary checks and balances, I booked my flight and here I am in lagos AKA lasgidi.
I woke up yesterday having a bit of mixed feelings, I know it’s going to be fun with my sister and seeing my babies but I would miss home, but then I was somehow happy to miss home, it has really been a long time I left that space and I was excited to actually leave finally even if it’s just for a week.
My partner dropped me off at the airport after doing all the necessary check in for me, I just sat in the car and he came to call me when it was time to board and handed me my slip. We said our goodbyes, hugs and kisses and I boarded.

I got on the plane and headed to my seat which was 18a, I had already booked a window seat online, I needed some sky view so that I could take pictures for you guys.
The nice elderly man who sat next to me started a short conversation which for some strange reasons I was happy to indulge in, i normally hate forced conversations especially with strangers but I was glad to make small talk with him just before the flight took off.

some sky view too beautiful
Now here comes the part I dread, as much as I have travelled by air countless times, I still get very nauseous at take offs and accelerations or landings, I could almost puke, I experience extremely eye turning, head spinning and instant palm and forehead sweating once a plane takes off or takes those slight bends or bumps up in the sky. Its almost like my body system goes from a 0-100 decline in a split seconds and I am left with no other option than to shut my eyes tightly to reduce the eye and head spinning.

arrived lagos
After a while the nausea subsides but the head spinning and eye turning never does, I just have to manage it through out the flight.
Yesterday’s own was really severe, one look at me you would think I was at sleep but I wasn’t, I was busy trying to calm myself and my inner me screaming please drop me.
Is there a word for such feeling?
Do you feel this way too when you are on a plane?
I really need to know if I am alone in this, each time I take a flight with my partner he makes sure to hold on to me tightly because he knows I always feel nauseous, you can imagine someone sweating so much on an airplane that has cold air conditioning,
It’s really funny,

landing
it’s not that I am frightened in anyway, I am never frightened or having a panic attack during take off or landing, my body just doesn’t accept the jerks and bumps up in the sky, really words fail me to explain exactly how I always feel. My sister who I came to visit here in lagos is an air hostess herself, and she flies everyday of her life, when I was narrating my ordeal to her, she couldn’t help but laugh and say;
me that walk through the Plane when it’s in motion and it’s what we do everyday, that means you can’t work as a cabin crew then
I desperately and quickly agreed with her because really I can’t work on air with my body system always acting funny.
As soon as my sister picked me we headed to buy the one thing I always love to have when I am in lagos and that is iyababatunde’s Amala and Ewedu with plenty orishirishi(meat)

It was still as sumptuous and yummy as I remember. This took always all my flight stress in an instant.
Do tell me your flight frights and experience I’ll be in the comment section
Thank you for stopping by

Yayyy..welcome to lasgidi
I know the feeling😂 for me during the take off I feel like my gut and intestine are been dumped into my belle.... It is a crazy feeling...
Exactly
It’s a wild feeling Abeq
Flying almost always comes with ear pain for me. But that’s all that happens anyway. I’m glad it’s not worse.
It’s funny how good food can relieve stress.
This Amala and Ewedu I keep hearing about, I need to taste it o.
You need to
It’s yummy
So I’ve heard.
Awwww, what a wonderful story, I hope you have fun in Lagos. Thank you for the sky pictures, they are so beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by
Let me start with this, where is your location in Lagos?
You could come to our gym&dance studio to relieve your stress you know and I would be excited to see you....you could check us out on Instagram via ziza_dance fitness.
😁
Also, I've never travelled by air before and I can't really say how it feels, but somehow I think I can imagine it and to be honest, it's funny that you felt that way even though you are used to traveling by air hehe, I'm sure it must be very uncomfortable too, sorry about that.
Thank God for the safe journey and the Iyababatunde's ewedu and Pamela that always restores your body system to its normal state.
Welcome to Lagos.

I almost forgot to add this, the pictures of the sky are beautiful, I love the view. The journey was a fast one. I like that kind of journey.
Welcome to Lagos.

Am on the mainland
Oh well, that's good cuz I'm on the mainland too😀
Nice flight we had there, seeing your pictures and reading your post made me feel like we boarded the flight together.
Welcome to Lagos, I am sure @estherscott will be glad to show you round Lagos.

Choi!! Sorry Ma.
Hehehehehe... she knows lagos more than i do, did her nysc here and is a regular visitor.. no worry
She is suppose to even show me around
I don't think I get frightened or sick. I feared I would get really sick the first time because I easily get car sick but that didn't happen.
I never have motion sickness
So I guess everyone and their cup of tea
Well i think the change you have made will be good to your health.
🤣🤣🤣🤣, my belly oo🤩
The head-spinning is a crazy one. I nearly screamed at that experience on my first flight. I remember
telling my twin brother that some people with head-related sickness can't survive by flight, it was that serious 🤩
Welcome to lagos, our own lasgidi✌
Lol at all they can’t survive it
Thanks 😊
Welcome to Lagos!
I hope you brought goodies for us Lagosians o. Meanwhile, the way you feel during take off is completely normal for some people. It's a terrible feeling indeed.
Plus, that amala is giving exactly what it's supposed to give. I can't remember the last time I had amala. I miss it😫
Take this as your que and go get yourself a plate
Lol
Thanks
It will not exceed today.
