A DECADE OF LOVE!!

Hey friends

My sister and her husband clocked a decade in marriage on the 21st of April. It was such a happy day. I mean 10years on living, loving and doing life with one person isn’t easy, so it was a lot of excitement and joy.

The day was filled with lots of wishes and social media posts from friends, family and well wishers. Meanwhile for the past one month plus we have been planning their vow renewal ceremony and party. Although my sister and her kids live in the UK, we were all involved in the process of helping her pick her dresses, hair , etc for the re-wedding.

Yes

They had a whole wedding all over again. They walked down the aisle, they had a wedding cake, reception, drinks, food, guests and music.

They even had an invitation card which was made by me using the Canva app

It was their 10years vow renewal yesterday and the ceremony and reception party was so lit and fun. Although I wasn’t there in physical, I watched everything via video call. From the early morning she started dressing till when she walked into the joining and then back to her hotel to get dressed for the reception. My other older sister, my mum and I were on video call with her through out, cheering and hyping her up like we would have done if we were there with her.

She got a little emotional, because she began to miss us and wished we were there with her, we were still so happy for her through the phone.

The vow renewal ceremony went well. They both said their personal vows to each other, Professing their undying love and commitment to each other till the end of time. Their children too were excited seeing their daddy and mummy celebrating their love. They also were the little groom and little bride for their mom and dad. I call that a once in a lifetime opportunity participating in ones parents wedding.

I really wished I was there, first because I like a good love story and won’t have loved to be part of their joy in person, also to give my sister hugs and kisses, I know what it means to wish for family around when one is having such celebrations and I knew she craved hugs from us her family. She know we were happy and exited for her and she knows how much we love her. And finally just seeing the set up of everything it looked super fun and I do love a good party with lots of food and drinks and fun myself.
