Regresamos / We came back [ESP/ENG]

Algo diferente y emocionante que nos paso durante este tiempo fue que, luego de 7 meses, pudimos visitar a nuestra abuela. Debido a la pandemia es muy difícil ir hasta allá, sin embargo, luego de prepararnos muy bien para el viaje, les dimos esa gran sorpresa. Todos estaban muy felices de vernos :). Viajamos un domingo, un día antes del cumpleaños de mi abuela (no podíamos ir el día siguiente, ya que era semana radical), por lo que decidimos hacer un pequeño adelanto de su día especial. Llevamos una deliciosa torta fría de parchita que le encargamos a una vieja amiga del colegio, realmente estaba muy rica. También le preparamos un hermoso arreglo con globos y dulces y llevamos arroz chino hecho en casa para compartir con todos a la hora del almuerzo.

Something different and exciting that happened to us during this time was that, after 7 months, we were able to visit our grandmother. Due to the pandemic it is very difficult to go there, however, after preparing very well for the trip, we gave them that big surprise. Everyone was very happy to see us :). We traveled on a Sunday, the day before my grandmother's birthday (we couldn't go the next day, since it was a radical week), so we decided to preview her special day. We took a delicious cold passion fruit cake that we ordered from an old friend from school, it really was very tasty. We also prepared a beautiful arrangement with balloons and sweets and brought home-made Chinese rice to share with everyone at lunchtime.

La familia es un tesoro que debemos cuidar y nunca desamparar, sobretodo en situaciones difíciles como las que vivimos hoy en día debido al covid. La unión familiar, el amor y el estar presentes, aunque sea en la distancia, nos hacen más fuertes y valientes, nos hacen ser agradecidos y retribuir lo que recibimos, pues nada tiene más valor que el amor. Un saludo, un mensaje o una llamada pueden ser la salida a un día difícil o agobiante, y no nos cuestan nada.

Abracen mientras puedan. Regálenle sonrisas a sus familiares y recuérdense que se quieren.

The family is a treasure that we must take care of and never abandon, especially in difficult situations like the ones we live in today due to covid. Family bonding, love and being present, even from a distance, make us stronger and more courageous, they make us be grateful and give back what we receive, because nothing has more value than love. A greeting, a message or a call can be the exit to a difficult or overwhelming day, and they cost us nothing.

Hug while you can. Give smiles to your family members and remind each other that you love each other.
