What Are Your Thoughts Regarding Bitcoin Mining Providing Heat To Canada
I personally feel that this is a genius idea, Canada is known to be one of the most coldest country in the world. So they need all the heat they can get to stay warm. Due to Bitcoin’s proof of work mechanism, lots of energy is needed to mine bitcoin. All thanks to Elon Musk and his statement in May, lots of companies are developing greener ways to mine bitcoin, even though we all know that mining bitcoin is not the major problem behind our climate change.
But I guess, the world needed some one or something to blame for that, so they blamed the 12 year old bitcoin.
If I can remember my chemistry and physics properly, I know there was a part where we told that energy can never be created nor destroyed but can be changed from one form to another.
Don’t take me seriously, I just felt like adding that there.
The heat energy generated from mining bitcoin, got me thinking, what have they been doing with it? Have they been letting it into the atmosphere? That should be considered wastage of energy.
Well glad to here that the heat energy is about to be utilized to heat homes in Vancouver, Canada. This just shows another utility and benefits of bitcoin. I still stand by my word that bitcoin is one the best thing that happened to the human race.
This idea doesn’t just mine bitcoin, which is a digital currency, but it also saves energy by directing the energy to homes for proper utilization and it also reduces the rate at which climate change is affected.
This energy utilization will be possible in 2022 when a bitcoin mining company called MintGreen teams up with an energy corporation called Lonsdale Energy Corporation.

It shows the creativity of some of the solutions that are out there.

BC Hydro (Hydra) is British Columbia's electric power monopoly. As Terasen Corp monopolizes natural gas for Vancouver. Just Watching who would potentially oppose BTC or any Crypto mining.

It's not as easy as they make it look! Sure mining does release lots of heat but the challenge is how they will transfert that heat from mining stations to houses or a large public surface etc...
