Newbies and How to use Hivesigner

I noticed that some newbies don’t know what the @hivesigner is or how to use it. Yesterday @dora381 said she couldn’t get pass hivesigner when trying to follow a curation trail. I guess she hasn’t imported her account into the Hivesigner. This brought me to a state of realization that lots of newbies are not yet acquainted to using the Hivesigner or know what it is, or how it works. I can remember describing something for a Newbie I brought into Hive and I told him to log into his account using Hivesigner, and he replied asking me what Hivesigner is.

Well Hivesigner in my view is an auxiliary platform that gives you access to your hive account without you posting those long gibberish keys all the time. It gives you the opportunity to choose your own personal password that you can remember.

You know when you were signing up on Hive you were given lots of keys that are gibberish and hard to remember. The work of this Hivesigner is, it gives you the access to create your own password that you can remember and execute actions on your account without the need to always post those different gibberish keys.

How Do I Signup On Hivesigner?
Well to use the Hivesigner you need to click on the Hivesigner option like this:

If you haven’t imported your account and keys into Hivesigner you will be shown this option

Click on this, input your name and active key

Then put a password you can remember and click on continue or import account

Then authorize it.

Whenever you want to make transfer or login into any Hive front end, except those front ends that require Hive keychain, you can use your Hivesigner password to log in into the front end. You don’t have to use your Hive posting and active key anymore, except when needed specifically.
