Contributing to my daughter's integral education at home

Greetings again to all the members of this prestigious platform, especially to the community of @edu-venezuela, it is no secret that the education of our children is a shared responsibility between teachers and us parents, and even as parents we are the most interested in such education, that is why we must have a greater responsibility in this aspect.

Generally we as parents tend to know our children more deeply and this involves their learning style or the space where they most like to do it, of course, if we see some flaws in their way of studying we can support them as long as they feel comfortable with our suggestions, what we have to do is to make them put our advice into practice and they will notice if they like it or not.

In general, I share the responsibility of teaching my daughter with my wife, and in this way we both get in tune with her way of learning and we both share our experience so as not to confront our way of helping her to develop her school activities.

As we know school activities are diverse and allow us to share with our daughter in different ways, sometimes there are activities that she likes more like coloring where I am not so good, but, I try to support her as much as I can as you can see in the following image.

One of his passions has been to learn from some of my small homemade experiments where he participates with great interest with the curiosity to see what I am doing and what it is used for, I remember the realization of a homemade periscope which is an optical instrument implemented by submarines to see on the surface while submerged.

To do this just use a portion of plastic pipe, plastic elbow, a pair of mirrors, a saw blade and permanent marker, and in this way with the position of the two mirrors with an angle of 45 ° degrees is possible to visualize things that are beyond our reach, this optical instrument allowed him to learn from the reflection of the images in the mirrors, as you can see in the following picture.

Another of my homemade instruments that my daughter loved to know was the home-made spectroscope which allowed us to observe the decomposition of white or visible light into its component colors and this allowed her a better understanding of the phenomenon of the rainbow, this instrument could also check it as you can see in the following image.

From the use of light we now move on to the phenomenon of the center of gravity in general, that concentric point where we can stabilize or put in equilibrium any particle system, the following small practical experience also enchanted my daughter by the fact of observing how a small cork with a pin and two forks was able to remain in balance on a thin rope, that is to say, a tightrope walker as you can see in the following picture.

These are things that even though he has little understanding of these phenomena, I experience them and I create his interest in learning more about each of these small practical experiences, and I believe that it allows him to balance his skills later on, of course, the support is also in the resolution of math exercises and in other educational subjects.

Our children will always be waiting for our help in their school activities and for that we must be ready to encourage them and help them to find the best study techniques where they feel more comfortable, and we will see their school performance will increase exponentially and we will all be proud of them.
