POB Photography : Pine Cones

Pine trees are easy to find in Gayo Highlands. In most areas of the highlands grow coffee and pine trees. Today I took some pictures of pine cones. The cones were fallen on the ground. Some are stuck on the grass.

But you know, I was surprised to know that pine cones can stay in pine trees for more than 10 years before falling to the ground.Source. Is it that long?

I took some cones and placed them on the trunk of tree for a better look to capture.

And this is the pine tree. There are a lot of cones on the branch.
