Mi entrada al concurso Graffiti Lettering #10 (LUCK) / My entry to the Graffiti Lettering Contest # 10 (LUCK)

Buenos días mi estimada comunidad, por segunda vez me uno al concurso de Graffiti Lettering Contest #10,en esta ocasión la palabra es "LUCK". Les voy a detallar el proceso de elaboración y los materiales utilizados.

Good morning my dear community, for the second time I am joining the Graffiti Lettering Contest # 10, this time the word is "LUCK". I am going to detail the production process and the materials used.

Procedimiento:

Al iniciar este reto pensaba en los símbolos de la palabra elegida. Allí surgieron varias ideas y busqué lápiz y papel para plasmarlas. Al hablar de suerte, el azar es un elemento importante. En virtud de este planteamiento, en mi diseño empleé diferentes tipos de juegos: los dados, el póker, el dominó y la ruleta. En cada uno las probabilidades de ganar son relativas.

La primera letra es la “L”, la realicé en forma de dados apilados, cuando estos cubos giran, el misterio se acrecienta, no sabemos las caras que se van a develar, su movimiento está signado por el azar, por ello debemos aguardar pacientemente a que se detengan.

Process:

When starting this challenge, I was thinking about the symbols of the chosen word. There several ideas arose and I looked for a pencil and paper to capture them. When talking about luck, chance is an important element. By virtue of this approach, in my design I used different types of games: dice, poker, dominoes and roulette. In each one the probabilities of winning are relative.

The first letter is the "L", I made it in the form of stacked dice, when these cubes turn, the mystery increases, we do not know the faces that are going to be revealed, their movement is marked by chance, so we must wait patiently for let them stop.

Por otra parte, la “U” está representada por la ruleta, esta imagen me lleva de inmediato a las casas de apuesta o casinos. Al lanzar la esfera perdemos todo el control, desconocemos si la suerte nos sonreirá o asumiremos la derrota. Como pueden apreciar, encima de esta grafía le añadí la figura del arlequín, la cual alude a un comodín, el joker que puede modificar el rumbo del juego y poner las cartas a tu favor.

On the other hand, the "U" is represented by roulette, this image immediately takes me to the betting houses or casinos. When launching the sphere we lose all control, we do not know if luck will smile on us or we will assume defeat. As you can see, on top of this spelling I added the figure of the harlequin, which alludes to a joker, the joker who can change the course of the game and put the cards in your favor.

Ahora viene el turno de la “C”, cuyo bosquejo fue con el tradicional juego de dominó. A pesar de que existen teorías y técnicas que se pueden estudiar para obtener mejores resultados, el azar también está involucrado al seleccionar las fichas que le tocan a cada jugador.

Por último, la “K” es una carta, el rey de corazones que representa a Carlomagno, emperador del Sacro Imperio Romano-Germánico. La insignia que lo caracteriza está justificada por ser un hombre de un gran corazón.

Now comes the turn of the "C", whose sketch was with the traditional game of dominoes. Although there are theories and techniques that can be studied to obtain better results, chance is also involved in selecting the chips that each player has.

Finally,the "K" is a letter, the king of hearts, that represents Charlemagne, emperor of the Holy Roman-Germanic Empire. The insignia that characterizes him is justified by being a man with a great heart.

A mi diseño también le incluí la efigie de la Reina de Tréboles pues es un naipe que simboliza fuerza, coraje y determinación, tres elementos esenciales para alcanzar las metas que nos propongamos en la vida. Usualmente aparece con un trébol negro de tres hojas, pero en su mano le quise realizar uno de cuatro y colorearlo en verde, ya que según la tradición es un amuleto de buena suerte debido a su rareza en la naturaleza, de allí que la fortuna favorable acompañe a quien lo porte.

In my design I also included the effigy of the Queen of Clubs as it is a playing card that symbolizes strength, courage and determination, three essential elements to achieve the goals that we set ourselves in life. It usually appears with a black three-leaf clover, but in his hand I wanted to make one of four and color it green, since according to tradition it is a good luck charm due to its rarity in nature, hence the favorable fortune accompany whoever carries it.

Los colores utilizados son característicos de todos estos juegos, empleé creyones y pinturas. El fondo de mi Graffiti lo pinté de verde, el cual fui mezclando con blanco a fin de matizarlo y lograr un contraste agradable. Espero que esta publicación haya sido de su agrado.

The colors used are characteristic of all these games, I used crayons and paints. I painted the background of my Graffiti green, which I was mixing with white in order to nuance it and achieve a pleasant contrast. I hope this publication has been to your liking.
