St.Petersburg walks in B+W. October (13 foto)
I am a bit tired recently from posting the same stuff and wanted some divercity and even writing instead of visuals (working on a few educational posts for the RUssian community). In cases like this, B-W always come to resque. So, today I share some B+W streetphoto etudes.
Everything you see in the post is one autumn day walk across the streets of my city, St.Petersburg. All pictures taken by me. Camera used: Canon 5D + Sigma50mm / Sigma 150mm.
Cropped version above, original version as shot below.
All 55 shades of grey in this capture. Well, actually I did not count. :P
Closed fountain.
An eye contact definitely added to this capture (altho it wasnt intended and wasnt planned or wanted!) - I was focusing on a kid walking out his toy (!) puppet.
A fan of the 'Zenith' football club (probably, also a fan of the beer).
Everyday life at the streets of the city ... nothing special or unique happens in this photo, it doesn have a big value of photo-art. But if that historical (modern) city depicted on this photo will disappear (which certainly happens at some point in time) -- then it will certainly acquire a value ... as a historical source and evidence. I see it at with myself, looking at eagerness how do I look at the fuzzy faded photographs from the streets of a century ago... I watch at the faces of long-dead people, signs of non-existent shops, horse carts and demolished houses ... that's all.
Kidz.
And this one was the last for this day, already late in the evening. Night photography often looks splendid in B-W, as almost getting another dimension.

Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing
oh. ok, thanks for kind words! I didnt know you are into this kind of stuff! (maybe it makes a good contrapunkt to what you have around you?.. that assumption would make things look plausible for me )))
Well its not really the city imagery that I liked, but how you turned something that I would normally just pass by into dramatic storytelling art works. Because you’re right, I’m not into this, but I enjoyed it nonetheless 🙂
I really like the 55 shades of grey, even the lines on his pants somehow fit with all the lines in the picture. And the kid with the plane is beautiful.
thank you, Didi. I always appreciate other folks stopping by to choose their favourites from the set.
a mushroom !PIZZA goes your way here.
ps. the one i've labelled as 55 shades of grey is really dull and not intresting photo (as shot) - but! being converted to b-w, it suddenly getting a new dimensions, and give totally different feed to our brain. the photo become pleasurable and intresting. funny! B-W is a great thing, a good way to go for a photographer. cheers!

так просто и так круто
люблю такие фотки
скромно соглашусь. кроме парочки проходных-балласта, тут мне достались удачные стрит кадры. и от убирания цвета они только выигрывают, становясь вневременными.
