Cuyahoga County Fair: Animals, Rides, Collections And Entertainment!
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the 125th annual Cuyahoga County Fair! Located in Berea, just outside of Cleveland(Ohio), the event was held at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds is host to all different types of events throughout the year-flea markets, fireworks, gun shows etc.(I once saw a Pink Floyd tribute band here)...but this is is the premiere event of the year!
This year, the county fair was jam-packed with events and sights-of which we were only able to see a small amount of everything that happened throughout the week. Alas, I missed the demolition derby and horse racing...but I still have plenty of good photos to share!
There were rides, of course!
And puppy stunt shows ( you'll have to see the video compilation I will post! )
Some wreckage from the demolition derby.
"The Reflector" was a guy in a cool mirror man suit....his dance moves were honestly not amazing...but I bet he doesn't have much mobility in that thing!
There was a Johnny Cash ride that looked pretty scary to me!
The alien art hive ride looked out of this world!
Now here's a real deal hive!... Don't mention "decentralization"to the queen, though 😉 🐝
Some great wood carving art done right in front of your eyes!
Crowd outside the puppy pals stunt show.
Cactii and succulents galore.
Train rides for the kids!
There is a strict "no fighting"policy! 👊
One of the problems with attending towards the end of the week is that the perishables tend to, you know, perish as time goes by.
I think we had some tough competition for first prize in the penicillin contest!
Now we enter the collectables room, starting with some vintage cards.
And some hand made blankets
Just like grandma used to make!
Some ancient artifacts from a time prior, where this kind of advertising was deemed ok.
We have a multitude of dollhouses, from prefabricated to homemade!
A wall of photography:
And a wittle ducky
Why not just leave a bunch of guns out behind some chicken wire??
Here's a bunch of collectables from that 90s movie, Ladybugs, starting Rodney Dangerfield.
And some tough competition for the paper mache category!
One of these years I'm going to enter...I think a good technique would be to see what categories had few entries and then enter those so you have less competition!
A cool trainset, that I mostly just got video from (will have to upload at a later date )
Here is outside, near the entrance ... And the giant wind turbine.
Is this the GOAT?? or just the best in show?
Little ones.
Manly man hard at work making custom signs for sale.
And we have another machinist of some sort here...
Let's see what we have here in the poultry and bunny barn:
Oh, these poor creatures locked up on display! I assume they live free lives to get all groomed up for the big fair, but...are they locked up in a cage all week in this scary, crowded room?
I hope the winners go home and get rewarded with some prize-winning carrots!
And some parking lot and external shots to leave you with!
Thanks for reading!...did you feel like you were there? Check out your county fair sometime, you might have just as much fun!
