Many find them very awkward and outdated as such things were considered to be stupidity things. However, our culture and tradition were derived from ancient vedic age. 1. Greetings with Folded Hands:

Call it Namaste or Namaskar. This is very unique way of greeting someone, not even found anyone else, but very common for Indians. Post covid-19 outbreak this method of greeting held as immense importance and many people comes to know. It helps to prevent the spread of germs and virus.
But the old book has a scintific logic associated with it. When we join both of our hands the pressure that develops on top of the fingers is a kind of acupressure, allowing our ears, eyes and mind to calm and remembers the person in front. We also offer prayers this way so that we focus on our idol in front.

2. Eating with Cross Legged:

Indians love eating food in cross legged sitting posture on th3 floor. This is very old practices. Many find it awkward and prefer to sit on dining table. However, if goes by ancient science, cross legged sitting is form of yoga asana. Which allow mind to be calm. It is always said to have our meals in a calm way. The reason being it allow proper digestion of food.
In this way, our body gets the full benefit of the food eaten while sitting.

These are unique and interesting facts about our tradition. Hope you all find them beneficial too. I will brings some more interesting facts sooner.
