My First HIVE Power-Up in a Long Time!

Hello, Hivers! There are only a few hours left of Hive Power Up Day and this time I want to be a part of it!

The main reason I usually don't participate in HPUDs is because I'm usually lacking liquid HIVE. This is because I post sporadically. Yes, I'm bad at posting consistently. However, I have been racking up those HBDs.

But with the recent pump I don't think I'll sell my HBDs. I should have sold back before HIVE broke over $1. BTW I just recently learned what this type of graph means, thanks to my friend who dabbles in the stock markets. Anyways, so I'm left with the dilemma of wanting to power up but lacking the tokens.

To the Hive-Engine!

Another reason why I'm usually HIVEless is because I'm always buying gaming NFTs. Usually new elite eXode colony assets to prepare for colonization gameplay but also Hashkings seeds and water.

Let's see, which token do I have plenty of that also has decent price? That would be Splinterlands Dark Energy Crystals (DEC)! It's time to sell 5000!

While I don't want to sell more DEC, I would still like to power up with a little more juice. So I guess I'll have to dip in to the HBDs I was HODLing.

I sat looking at this page for a few moments, considering whether it would be the right choice. I could buy a lot of game assets with that... but where's why I won't:

Hive is growing in popularity!
Whether it's because of Splinterlands, crypto mass adoption in general, or the Koreans. I'll take it!

More people are leaning towards decentralization
I think that while people do want financial freedom, there's also a growing need for our other basic freedoms like freedom of speech, especially now.

I never dump
To me, HIVE is like my native token. It's one of the ones I have the most of in terms of value. I never sell off HIVE for profit/fiat. That's why I actually really like the Hive PUD initiative, despite my participation history. It encourages everyone to hold their HIVE and appreciate it but we also gain from that in the long run, too.

It was with a heavy heart that I pressed that button, haha. But it's over with now. I did it! It was for the greater good. This will help me on my year-end goal of reaching 1000 HP. What a journey this has been!

Not financial advice!

Congratulations @proto26! You received a personal badge!

You powered-up at least 10 HIVE on Hive Power Up Day! This entitles you to a level 1 badge.
Participate in the next Power Up Day and try to power-up more HIVE to get a bigger Power-Bee.
May the Hive Power be with you!

You did it well! I'm participating in HivePUD for ages and I have to admit that this time, it was hardest to press that Power Up button... High HIVE value, so many other things that can be bought with it didn't help at all in powering up...

But, on the other side, you are right about the popularity of HIVE and it's indeed getting traction lately with Splinterlands, and I hope soon with other apps here...

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!

Congratulations on powering up your Hive. I agree, with the price of Hive it was harder to hit the button than in the past but I did it as well. Take care.
