Hi everyone, this is my entry to the Hive BookClub Contest #3 and before I get into the questions asked I would like to share with you all how my love for reading came to be. I was one of those socially awkward kids growing up who avoided groups and interactions with strangers (or unfamiliar people) whenever I could and as you can guess this didn't earn me a lot of friends back then but developed a love for reading was the one light in that dark patch that helped a lot.

English is one of the languages taught in schools here and I always found it easier than the other subjects (no math genius πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ) and it quickly became my favorite.

The textbooks for the English classes always included short stories in them and those stories were my first introduction to reading for fun not just to study.

The more stories I read the more I wanted to read and because I spent a lot of that time on my reading became an outlet for loneliness and friends from the prints kept me company and entertained.

It got to a point I started saving from my pocket money to buy storybooks 😊 𝘡𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘀𝘩π˜ͺ𝘭π˜₯𝘩𝘰𝘰π˜₯.

As the years went by I learned to interact more with others and made tons of friends but the one thing that has remained constant is my love for reading that's graduated from the kiddies storybooks to more age-appropriate volumes.

π˜π˜ˆπ˜π˜–π˜™π˜π˜›π˜  π˜›π˜π˜”π˜Œ π˜–π˜™ π˜—π˜“π˜ˆπ˜Šπ˜Œ π˜›π˜– π˜™π˜Œπ˜ˆπ˜‹
Before now I could read just about any time of the day, morning, afternoon, or night. At home, at school, the library, or just about any quiet corner I could find 😊 but these days thanks to daily commitments and work my reading time is my bedtime, in my bedroom, and on my bed.
I currently have a couple of novel apps on my phone which is my main source of books from different authors all over the world and the best part for me is the choice, so many options available of different joineries on the web from established to upcoming writers which I have enjoyed for years.

π˜žπ˜π˜ˆπ˜› π˜”π˜ˆπ˜’π˜Œπ˜š π˜”π˜Œ π˜Œπ˜•π˜‘π˜–π˜  𝘈 π˜Žπ˜–π˜–π˜‹ π˜‰π˜–π˜–π˜’

Interesting characters for one and also for me a good book should have a killer plot (none of those overused CEO falls in love with Secretary plots please)

Also, a good book should be intriguing without being too complicated.

A little bit of romance, some suspense, and mystery is 100% my speed.

π˜‹π˜– 𝘐 π˜“π˜π˜’π˜Œ π˜›π˜– π˜™π˜Œπ˜ˆπ˜‹ π˜–π˜œπ˜›π˜‹π˜–π˜–π˜™π˜š,π˜‰π˜Œπ˜π˜–π˜™π˜Œ π˜‰π˜Œπ˜‹ π˜–π˜™ π˜–π˜• π˜›π˜π˜Œ π˜‰π˜œπ˜š π˜›π˜– π˜žπ˜–π˜™π˜’

I will stand with the before bed crowd πŸ›Œ since that is usually the time I can get in my daily reading because my days are usually busy so before bed is my ME time when I can unwind after a busy day and let the world of fiction lure me into dreamland.

π˜‹π˜– 𝘐 π˜π˜–π˜Šπ˜œπ˜š π˜–π˜• π˜Šπ˜π˜ˆπ˜™π˜ˆπ˜Šπ˜›π˜Œπ˜™ π˜‹π˜Œπ˜π˜Œπ˜“π˜–π˜—π˜”π˜Œπ˜•π˜›,π˜›π˜π˜–π˜œπ˜Žπ˜π˜›π˜ π˜π˜œπ˜“ π˜”π˜ˆπ˜šπ˜šπ˜ˆπ˜Žπ˜Œπ˜š π˜–π˜™ π˜“π˜Œπ˜π˜Œπ˜“ π˜–π˜ π˜π˜•π˜›π˜™π˜π˜Žπ˜œπ˜Œ 𝘈 π˜—π˜“π˜–π˜› π˜Žπ˜Œπ˜•π˜Œπ˜™π˜ˆπ˜›π˜Œπ˜š π˜π˜• π˜”π˜Œ

I generally love stories with thoughtful messages (moral lessons) the kind of stories you can take something positive from is a good choice for me but I also like a story that has a lot of intrigue in them, the kind that you cannot easily predict πŸ’―

I hate reading the first two chapters of a book and already being able to predict the end, those are super boring because I want a book that can catch my attention and hold it by keeping me guessing till the very last page.

I like stories that takes a reader on virtual adventures and make you go 'awwss 🀩 how I wish that was me'

So this my entry into the contest and I would like to invite @queenbella29 and @humbledwriter to come to check out this Contestand thank you for reading πŸ‘

Good taste in novels, I also like drama and it's not necessary a tragedy.
Dramatic events are exiting and challenging.
It gets the adrenaline to rush faster and it feels so good

Your right, nothing like a like a well written suspense-filled novel to set the imagination flying, got to love the world of friction.

Haha, I can definitely relate to that "aww, how I wish that was me" feeling. Reading takes us elsewhere, even beyond our imagination :)

Thank you for tagging me!!! It's awesome that you enjoy reading novels and creative writings but I have been discouraged to read them since I was small. My mother was an avid reader back in the day and she loved to read novels day and night, she was addicted to them and in turn damaged her study habits. Although she passed her course she has since then stopped reading novels altogether. I have now been trying to read some books but I too am terrified if I might be addicted to them because good literature is something that I can't get enough of!

Wow!!! Really?, I understand how easy it can be to get distracted with reading for pleasure at the expense of one's study but as long as you can separate both it should be fine.

Reading isn't just about novels but you could also read self-motivational books too that could help in building you for the future.

Was looking forward to seeing your entry but I do understand but still give it a thought because unlike your mom I'm sure you can do both without problem πŸ˜„

Hehehehe, this part is funny. Most writers just choose to mess with our minds by making us read this stuff more than we should.

Nigerian movies exaggerate it in their movies too. Princes marrying maids and ladies from poor backgrounds πŸ˜…

🀣🀣🀣 I understand reading one or two novels with the same plot but seriously lol it's already too many and don't get me started with the Nollywood prince and poor girl theme πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ so overused already smh

Wow. The passion for reading wins it for me. That's really admirable. As a child, I read my parent's and siblings' books. As I grew older, I started to heavily invest in my own taste of books as I built my own library.

I will stand with the before bed crowd

This cracked me up. She says before bed crowd πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚. We are actually plenty. Truth be told.
Lovely post @princessj190

La intriga y el suspenso son dos elementos esenciales para captar la atenciΓ³n del lector. Predecir los hechos de una historia hace que perdamos el interΓ©s e, incluso, que lleguemos a abandonarla. Un gusto saludarte.

Buying books with your pocket money, that is so beautiful, shows how much you loved to read.
