I WAS BEING SENSITIVE TODAY

The majority of the killings, kidnappings, theft, etc are done on the highways, on the bus or in cars and I have read and heard of many. It happened to my Dad once some years back when he was travelling back to Lagos after coming to visit my Aunt in another state(Ibadan).

He boarded a bus at the garage, not knowing some guys joined them in the journey without the driver knowing about it. They haven't travelled far before the guys knocked out their guns, threatening to kill everyone if they didn't comply. My dad was carrying some clothes that should be delivered to his younger sister who would be going to the UK the following day.

They pursued my Dad while he kept running leaving behind his luggage until they couldn't meet him. Thank God they didn't shoot. He luckily saw a police station where he slept till the next day and wrote his statement down. Even though the bags weren't found till today.

This is why I am always sensitive when travelling, though I am always praying and committing my ways into God's hand one has to be careful too.

Pause....😂 I saw this little frog this morning before I left home.

I travelled with my Aunt to her place so I can spend some time with her before going back to my school and only "God knows when" before they would see me in the village again. At least I tried my best to spend over a month and some days with them. I enjoyed my stay and they did enjoy me too because I was satisfied with them.

Let's continue....we are back from the little break

We wanted to take a car before for the journey but it was only a bus left at the garage and we had no choice but to enter since it was remaining only two passengers.

I carried two bags. One had my laptop and gadgets while the second one contained my clothes and other stuff. As I wanted to enter the bus to sit at the back where space was, a guy extended his hand to help me lift my bag which I did and thanked him. I sat in the last seat while he was before me.

When the bus was almost taking off, I came back to my senses and a thought dropped into my mind
"What if the guy pretended to help but stylishly weighed my bag and conclude something must be there, especially my laptop?"

That was the thought in my mind as I was staring at him from behind. His friend sat with him and there were two young guys at the front beside the driver and another thought came in
"What if they were together and split themselves that way to avoid any suspicion from other passengers?"

The thought continued,

"What if the driver had been bribed in exchange for our lives?"

"What if the driver didn't know about it?"

"What if the two guys suddenly pull out guns and stopped the bus, sending us all out and laying us on the road while they collect everything from us?"

"What if the other two guys at the front point the gun at the driver diverting him to drive into a forest?"

What led to all these "what if" was that I saw the guy who helped me lift my bag while I entered received a call and I focused on him to at least listen to their conversations so it won't be that they were sent to bring us for rituals

Immediately, I snapped out of my negative thoughts replacing them with positive ones and silently calling the blood of Jesus for a safe trip.

One thing about me is that I am always careful and sensitive when entering public transport because one needs to be careful and also prayerful. This life is already messed up, we are only praying for God's protection every day.

May we not be victims of the unsafe journeys. Amen

Thank God for the safe trip which lasted for five hours.

Thanks for reading

It's crazy we have to go through a lot of 'what ifs' while travelling. I really envy people in other countries that make roadtrips whenever they feel like.

As in ehn...one has to be security conscious and keep praying to God for any journey we might go through. Thank you for stopping by.

Life itself is sensitive and it's a lesson to all. You thought so well my dear and these thoughts do come to my mind whenever I'm embacking of a long journey knowing fully well that I'm likely to be the last passenger onboard. What if the guy who helped to carry your bag containing your gadgets suddenly disappeared with it or what if the driver was diverted to the bush by the front passengers unknown to be gun men disguised in sheeps cloth as you said. There's really a huge need to be careful, but above all, having a positive mindset and trusting in God will definitely sort the rest of the journey.

Thanks for the thoughts @princessbusayo, it might help someone out there to be more careful than ever.
