Hello to everyone! How are you? I hope you are in good spirits and are still reading. The books I'm reading these days are quite long. That's why it's been difficult to finish a new book every week. So today I'm going to tell you about a book I read a long time ago.

I was in high school when I first read this book. I think it was the second year of high school. In high schools, they usually put you to the exam for the books you read, and this affects your grade on your report card. At least it was 4-5 years ago. - At the moment, I don't have any up-to-date information about this situation. - I had two different literature classes and the teachers of both classes would tell us different books to read. Honestly, I wasn't too bothered about it back then. But if this happened to me right now, I wouldn't be too pleased. Right now, I prefer to focus all my attention on one book.

The title of the book is "Of Mice and Men". The author is John Steinbeck. John Steinbeck is one of the best-known authors in American literature. He is especially famous for his book "The Grapes of Wrath". Maybe one day we'll review that book, too. He also won the John Steinbeck Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize. I must say that he is a very successful name in his writing career. This book has been adapted for the theater many times. Hollywood movie made. It is a work that he likes and praises very much. Let's take a look at the theme of the book!

Of Mice and Men

George and Lennie are two close friends who have no one else but each other. George is the smarter and physically weaker person. He usually handles Lennie. He mentors and adopts him. Lennie, on the other hand, is the person who is weak in mind but physically strong. He is very big and strong. Usually, this feature gets them in trouble.

Usually during their job interviews, George warns Lennie not to talk. Wherever he goes, Lennie draws attention with his large build, but avoids talking. Before they go to their new job, George warns Lennie. They decide where to run and where to meet if trouble comes to them. George introduces Lennie to the owner of the ranch they are going to as a half-wit. Despite his large size, Lennie is a coward when it comes to communicating with people.

Lennie has a soft spot for soft things and loves soft things. But Lennie is so strong that sometimes he likes these soft things and kills them. Lennie isn't mean and George knows he's a good person. That's why he usually helps Lennie in these cases of Lennie. But it is clear that he is tired of all this too. Still, George and Lennie dream of starting their own farm. Usually, George tells Lennie about these dreams. In fact, Lennie sometimes asks George to tell it over and over again. George retells it without getting bored. They are very good friends. But Lennie's disproportionate power will cause them even greater trouble this time.

From here on out, I would like to convey my personal thoughts about the book. I can say that it is the most understandable book of all the books I have read so far. Really fluent and understandable language was used. The descriptions of the characters were quite plain. Also, the descriptions weren't boring. I get bored reading general long character descriptions. But there were no such long and boring descriptions in this book. Finally, I should point out that John Steinbeck showed a different feature with each character he portrayed. Each character had a distinctive feature. It was also a nice detail that he included important issues such as racism in his book.

Belki bir gün o kitabın da incelemesini yaparız. Ayrıca John Steinbeck Pulitzer ödülü ve Nobel ödülü de kazanmıştır. Yazarlık kariyeri konusunda oldukça başarılı bir isim olduğunu söylemeliyim. Bu kitabı ise defalarca kez tiyatroya uyarlandı. Hollywood filmi yapıldı. Kendisinin de çok sevdiği ve övdüğü bir eser. Hadi biraz da kitabın konusunu inceleyelim!

Fareler ve İnsanlar

George ve Lennie birbirlerinden başka kimsesi olmayan iki yakın arkadaştır. George akıllı ve fiziki olarak daha zayıf olan kişidir. Genellikle Lennie'yi idare eder. Ona akıl hocalığı yapar ve onu sahiplenir. Lennie ise aklı zayıf ama fiziksel olarak güçlü olan kişidir. Çok iri ve güçlüdür. Zaten genellikle bu özelliği onların başını derde sokar.

Gerçekten çok akıcı ve anlaşılır bir dil kullanılmıştı. Karakterlerin betimlemeleri oldukça sadeydi. Ayrıca betimlemeler sıkıcı da değildi. Genel uzun karakter betimlemelerini okurken sıkılırım. Ama bu kitapta böyle uzun ve sıkıcı betimlemeler yoktu. Son olarak da şunu belirtmeliyim ki John Steinbeck betimlediği her karakterle farklı bir özellik ortaya koymuştu. Her karakterin belirgin bir özelliği vardı. Ayrıca ırkçılık gibi önemli konulara kitabında yer vermesi de güzel bir detaydı.
