En esta historia veremos a la protagonista Sam Bloom volverá a conectar con la vida gracias a una ayuda inesperada, una urraca. Esta es una película basada en la historia real de la familia Bloom en Australia, desarrollada en un libro del mismo nombre. Su estreno fue este 2021, la directora es Glendyn Ivin.

La familia Bloom decide irse a Tailandia de vacaciones, después de pasar unos días de aventuras y esparcimiento, la tragedia los golpea, cuando en un accidente la madre de la familia, Sam Bloom, cae desde una gran altura, debido a una vieja baranda. Las consecuencias son terribles, Sam pierde el uso de la mitad inferior de su cuerpo. Mientras Sam sufre las limitaciones de su nueva vida, sus hijos encuentran una urraca herida en la playa, la familia decide adoptarla como mascota. La historia avanza mostrando como esta urraca, llamada Penguin, acaba siendo una terapia que permite reconciliar a Sam con su nueva vida.

The Bloom family decides to go to Thailand on vacation, after spending a few days of adventure and recreation, tragedy hits them, when in an accident the mother of the family, Sam Bloom, falls from a great height, due to an old railing. The consequences are dire, Sam loses the use of the lower half of his body. While Sam suffers the limitations of his new life, his children find an injured magpie on the beach, the family decides to adopt it as a pet. The story progresses showing how this magpie, called Penguin, ends up being a therapy that allows Sam to reconcile with his new life.

La historia es interesante, siendo el tipo de películas que puedes acabar de un tirón sin problemas, pero a su vez es predecible, no habiendo muchas sorpresas. Aun así, el mensaje que muestra es reconfortante, y nos hace cuestionar cómo reaccionarías en una situación parecida.

The story is interesting, being the type of movies that you can finish in one go without problems, but at the same time it is predictable, there are not many surprises. Still, the message it shows is comforting, and makes us question how you would react in a similar situation.

La actuación es buena, siendo la actriz Naomi Watts la que interpreta a Sam Bloom, la que carga la mayor parte dramática. A su vez, los niños no desentonan. Otros aspectos técnicos no resaltan mucho, a mi parecer. Punto aparte merece el hecho de que se usarán diversos Urracas reales para la realización de esta cinta, y que de alguna manera lograron parecer reales las diversas interacciones que se genera con el ave.

The acting is good, with actress Naomi Watts being the one who plays Sam Bloom, the one who carries the most drama. Also, the children do it well. Other technical aspects do not stand out much, in my opinion. A separate point deserves the fact that various real magpies will be used for the making of this film, and that somehow the various interactions that are generated with the bird made seem real.

Es una buena película si buscas mensajes positivos, que muestra cómo el ser humano puede levantarse de nuevo, a pesar de la adversidad.

It is a good movie if you are looking for positive messages, showing how the human being can rise again, despite adversity.
