I made a long gown with pieces of ankara fabric for a friend.

Hello everyone in this amazing community
It has been an amazing day and a satisfying one.
I feel happy that i could make someone smile and it's always a great encouragement for me.

I received a call few weeks ago from a friend,she told me that she would love me to sew a gown for her
And i was glad she asked
Truthfully,this is the first time i am making a dress for her.
She has a good fashion designer and i felt glad she wanted me to create something for her this time around.

I didn't really want to make a choice for her,so i told her to give me her style.
She said she needed something like a bubu gown but not too big like a bubu gown.
So i figured something sizable.

The materials i used for the gown was a black fabric,
Measuring tape, Ankara fabric , Scissor.

The first step i took was the procedures of taking all her measurements.
She is tall in height and i am glad the fabric was enough for it.

It was a long gown,i took her shoulder measurements,burst,underburst,round sleeve,length of sleeve and hips.

I also cut out the front and back and this stages were simple for me.

But the stressful part was the small square design i created from ankara fabric.
This was so stressful for me that i had to spent almost 2 hours on the ankara design to create it.
Because after creating it,i took time to sew each of the pieces on the black fabric and i was grateful that i had finished up

Finally i was through, i used the Ankara fabric to create a neck design for it.


I gave her a call that i was through with her dress,she came and was so grateful.

After spending 5hours on the dress i felt good seeing the smile on her first and i felt i have done something worth it.
