Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so give it up for him and other furry friends 😻. As for me I have had a great day stepping it out ; and just about now I wanna fill you in on how it went and also share some of the trending stories. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
It was a nice morning so I had an amazing session of a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The other time I stepped out was to the mall for groceries around 2 pm. It was a largely cloudy day as I made my way. As always I had my usual afternoon nap, then I got up and had the cooking done.
Finally I had the usual slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze 🍃 .In between I was watching the news and also youtube.So what's been trending in the media streets? Locally a rather quiet day with the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, the turmoil in Gaza kept going. Today Israel struck a school and a hospital where thousands of civilians were sheltering🙀. There's currently no where safe in Gaza. The Gaza health ministry has put the death toll at 9,448 as of today😭.
Meanwhile thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv demanding the release of 240 hostages held by Hamas. Many in Israel are critical of their govt. And demanding more to be done to return the captives.
Also trending, US secretary of state, Anthony Blinken met with Arab foreign ministers in Amman Jordan. He ruled out a ceasefire instead calling for humanitarian pauses for aid to reach civilians🙀.
In contrast Egyptian foreign minister called for a swift and permanent ceasefire in Gaza without conditions. He added that Israel's policy of collective punishment cannot be deemed as self defense.
Lets go to Europe, where large protests were held in London and Berlin. Protesters standing with Palestinians, calling on the bombings to stop.
The same scenario was seen across the pond in Washington. Protesters similarly demanding for a stop to the bombings in Gaza. Some progressive democrats are urging Biden to use his leverage and rein in Israel. Biden's support has plummeted among Arab Americans to 17%🙀.
Ukraine trending as president Zelensky says focus has shifted to Israel Gaza war yet the war in Ukraine was still on😿. Today EU commission president Ursula Von De Leyen visited Kyiv to discuss the prospects of Ukraine joining the EU.
Finally in crazy weather, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal killing 157 people, destroyed buildings and roads😿. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭. Rescue operations are underway and I hope they can save some lives💯.
