La playa estaba solitaria y las gaviotas volaban buscando los peces que serian su alimento. Un Pelícano se zambulle en las aguas y un pez de color dorado se agita en su pico. Siente que se ahoga y hace un ultimo esfuerzo por liberarse.

Las gaviotas al ver aquel festín, se lanzan en picada y arremeten contra el pelicano para quitarle su presa. Este, en su desesperación suelta al pez, quien cae entre las agitadas olas y sin esperar ni un segundo se sumerge hacia el profundo fondo, pero esta herido y las gotas de sangre cayendo una tras otra, hasta llegar a la oscura arena.

La vieja mantarraya, que esta ciega pero que aun es capaz de mover sus grandes aletas, se acerca con rapidez al pez, que sabe que de esta ya no va a poder escapar y acepta resignado su destino.

The beach was lonely and the seagulls were flying around looking for the fish that would be their food. A Pelican dives into the water and a golden fish flutters in its beak. It feels it is drowning and makes a last effort to free itself.
