We have entered one month since the natural disaster that struck Aceh, specifically Bener Meriah and Central Aceh, two areas that were severely impacted. As a local businessman, I frequently transact in these two areas, having lived in these cities for over a year.

Memasuki satu bulan pasca bencana alam yang melanda wilayah Aceh, khusu untuk wilayah Bener Meriah dan Aceh Tengah, dimana ini merupakan dua wilayah dengan dampak yang cukup parah. Sebagai pembisnis lokal, saya sering bertransaksi di kedua wilayah ini, dimana saya telah tinggal lebih dari satu tahun di kota ini.

The natural disaster in this region has not only resulted in environmental damage, disrupted transportation, loss of homes, and loss of life, but has also impacted the socio-economic activities of the local community. For example, in the first week after the disaster, many residents began to panic due to the scarcity of staple foods.

Bencana alam di wilayah ini selain berdampak pada kerusakan lingkungan, putusnya akses transportasi, kehilangan rumah dan kematian, hal tersebut juga telah berpengaruh pada aktivitas sosial-ekonomi masyarakat di wilayah ini. Misalnya, paska minggu pertama setelah bencana alam, banyak warga yang mulai panik akibat kelangkaan bahan pangan pokok.

The shortage of staple foods was primarily caused by the disruption of roads at several national crossings, including those with bridges. The powerful flash floods, accompanied by rocks, sand, soil, and wood, damaged or even destroyed bridges at several points along the Bireuen-Takengon national crossing.

Pada dasarnya kelangkaan bahan pangan pokok disebabkan oleh terputusnya jalan disejumlah titik lintas nasional, jalan tersebut putus di titik yang memiliki jembatan. Aliran banjir bandang yang sangat kuat disertai dengan material batu, pasir, tanah dan kayu telah merusak bahkan menghilangkan jembatan di beberapa titik lintas nasional jalan Bireuen-Takengon.

This aligns with what I witnessed after surveying several locations, and is also clearly visible in reports on social media and Indonesian national television. Damaged roads have disrupted the supply of staple foods to our area, leading to shortages.

Hal tersebut sesuai dengan apa yang saya saksikan setelah melakukan survei ke beberapa tempat dan juga dapat kita lihat jelas dengan pemberitaan di media sosial maupun pemberitaan di televisi nasional Indonesia. Kerusakan jalan raya telah mengakibatkan terhambatnya pasokan bahan pangan pokok ke wilayah kami, sehingga mengakibatkan kelangkaan.

As a result of this shortage, many residents are anxious and panicked, resulting in panic attacks in the first week. This was triggered by the shortage of staple foods, especially among those living in the city center.

Akibat kelangkaan tersebut, banyak warga masyarakat yang resah dan panik, sehingga dampaknya pada minggu pertama telah munculnya panik attack. Hal tersebut dipicu oleh kelangkaan bahan pangan pokok terutama dialami oleh para pendatang di pusat kota.

This has largely resulted in more anarchic social activities, such as looting at several Alfamart and Indomaret markets located in the city center. Meanwhile, those of us in rural areas have struggled to purchase staple foods at shopping centers because roads have been cut off and buried by landslides.

Sebagian besar hal tersebut telah berdampak pada aktivitas sosial yang lebih anarkis, seperti penjarahan di beberapa pasar milik alfamart dan indomaret yang terletak dipusat kota. Sementara kami yang berada di wilayah pendesaan mengalami kesulitan untuk membeli bahan pangan pokok ke pusat pembelajaan, karena jalan telah putus dan tertimbun longsor.

In the city center, the shortage of staple foods occurred very quickly, likely due to panic, leading many residents and shop owners to hoard staple foods for their own use. The available stocks of staple foods have been significantly reduced and cannot be distributed evenly to the community.

Di pusat kota, kelangkaan bahan pangan pokok terjadi sangat cepat, kemungkinan disebabkan oleh karena kepanikan, sehingga banyak warga atau pemilik toko yang menimbun bahan pangan pokok untuk mereka kuasai secara sendiri. Stok bahan pangan pokok yang tersedia, menjadi sangat berkurang dan tidak dapat terdistribusi secara merata kepada warga masyarakat.

These actions have led to shortages. Furthermore, this scarcity has led to a drastic increase in the price of staple foods.

Sehingga tindakan seperti itulah telah menyebabkan kelangkaan, disisi lain, kelangkaan tersebut telah menyebabkan harga beli bahan pangan pokok mengalami kenaikan yang cukup drastis.

For example, the price of 15 kg of rice before the crisis was IDR 250,000-280,000. It has now risen to IDR 350,000-400,000. Similarly, the prices of cooking oil, sugar, and other commodities have risen by 50% to 200%. Meanwhile, agricultural products have also been significantly impacted, as we can only market them within our own region, as they cannot be marketed outside the region.

Misalnya harga beli beras 15 Kg pada saat sebelum krisis adalah IDR 250 K- IDR 280 K, saat ini naik dengan harga IDR 350 K - IDR 400 K, begitu juga dengan harga minyak goreng, gula dan lainnya yang mengalami kenaikan mencapai 50% hingga 200%. Sementara itu hasil bumi juga sangat berdampak dimana proses pemasaran hasil bumi hanya dapat kami lakukan di wilayah kami tersendiri, karena tidak dapat dipasarkan keuar wilayah.

Commodities in our region, such as coffee, chilies, and vegetables, have seen drastic price drops. Chilies, for example, used to be sold for IDR 50,000-100,000, but are now only being sold for IDR 5,000-15,000. This is a significant drop. This food crisis has caused market distortions, so I feel the government needs a policy to import staple foodstuffs into our region by plane and export the farmers' harvests to other regions.

Komoditi hasil bumi diwilayah kami adalah kopi, cabai dan sayur mayur, dampaknya harga beli mengalami penurunan drasti, cabai misalnya pada waktu biasa dibeli dengan harga IDR 50 K-IDR 100 K, namun saat ini hanya dibeli dengan harga IDR 5 K - IDR 15 K, penurunan yang mengalami sangat tajam. Krisis pangan ini telah menyebabkan distorsi pasar, sehinga saya rasa perlunya kebijakan dari pemerintah untuk memasukkan bahan pangan pokok ke wilayah kami dengan pesawat dan mengeluarkan hasil panen pekebun kewilayah luar.
