Dragon Age: Inquisition
Time for me to try Dragon Age: Inquisition!
I've never played any Dragon Age game so far, so I'm very curious to see if I'll like it. Dragon Age: Inquisition was a gift to Twitch Prime members, which hubby is. He decided to give the game to me, because I'd be most likely to play it any time soon.
So here we are, at the start of a new gaming adventure!
I am going in blind here, so I'm just selecting what I'd usually select. I'll go for an Elf, because they are usually pretty and in this game, there's a ranged defense bonus which sounds kinda nice.
I will play a mage, ofcourse, I do love spellcasters!
Yeah... I'm in this for the adventure, not for the combat challenge. I'm just a casual player here. Can always go harder at a later time.
World states, huh? Well, as I said, I'm going in blind, so I'm not really sure what this is all about. Default sounds like a safe choice.
Alright, let's begin!
Oh wait, character customization.
There's a nice amount of options to choose from and you can adjust most parts aswell. I'll just go with my regular colors and some actual long-ish hair. Most hair options are quite short.
Now then, let's begin!
I start off in a rather bad situation. Being chased by creepy spiders and reaching for a light, only to end up imprisoned.
Oops! Let's see if I can talk myself out of this.
Still bound, I'm led outside, hearing about what has happened with a rift that keeps expanding.
Somehow, I'm connected to that rift through my shiny hand. That's a scary thought, huh!
Yay, I can walk now! They still don't trust me, but atleast I'm free to move around for now. Time to go to that rift.
Except that the bridge broke and now we have to fight. Well, atleast I am allowed to keep my weapon after that...
Aah, I found a helmet! Let me just put that on and then go into the options to hide the ugly helmet...
So far, the keybinds seem pretty normal and easy. Intuitive for an average gamer I guess.
Alright, more combat, skill learning, looting and hey, I found iron! I can gather, yay!
We found some allies and this guy did something with my shiny hand to battle the rift light thingy! Seems I'm the key to this whole closing of the rifts thing. Neat, huh?
Well, I now have a party of four and I can control them all by using F1, F2, F3 and F4, or by simply clicking on their portait. I'm also learning I can pause the game through CTRL. I'm sure that will come in handy later. And there also seems to be a tactical camera option through T with which I can scan the entire battlefield and give commands to my party members. Oh my, this is becoming more complex!
Now I could continue on my route, but I do get distracted by the gathering option... So... some iron here, some elfroot there... going completely into the opposite direction.
To be honest, I am getting kind of tired, so I'll do the smart thing for once and stop here. So far this seems like a game I could enjoy, so I'm sure I'll continue soon!

Awwww, I love the Dragon Age games! 😃
The World State is more for if you've played the other games - Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. You can choose the things you did and choices you made in previous games and import those decisions via the world state so they show up in Inquisition. It's spiffy! Some of the characters are in previous games too. Like Varric, that little dwarf, he's your character's friend in #2. 😊
I've been meaning to play again too, but it's such a large game and I have a bad tendency of playing from the very start, so I'd need to play through Origins and 2 again before playing Inquisition and I just don't think I have that level of commitment at the moment. 😅
Anyway!!! I hope you enjoy it! It's such a great game! And yes, lotttttts of collecting and gathering and things!
If I had one big piece of advice for the game though... when you get to an area called The Hinterlands... you might feel as though you need to complete everything in one area before moving on to the next. Don't feel that way! The Hinterlands is one of the largest areas in the game, for example, and you will be returning to it throughout the game.
Well with this positive comment about the game, I'm all the more excited to continue 😃
Hmm, that sounds like it would take a lot of time! I'm glad I didn't feel that way 😅
Thanks for explaining world states to me! Seems like I made the right choice not to go into that right now. And also, happy to get that piece of advice. I'm sure I'll remember the name, because it'll remind me of WoW.

This game is amazing, I played the first and the second one, and this one is even better, but extremely extensive and complicated.
Aah, so something to get really lost in then!
I remember having a bad time with this game 😂. Thing is that I didn't have a PS4 or XboxOne by this game's launching, I just had my old Ps3, I struggled a lot to buy DAI, aaaaaaand it turns out that the game was poorely ported to old-gen consoles 🙄.
Even though I gave it a try, it was nearly impossible to have a proper experience, so I never finished it.
I'm glad that you're having a good time though!
Aww, that's sad to hear! Maybe one day you'll get another chance 😊
A lot of people are starting again right now with Dragon Age Origins - I loved the series :)
I hadn't tried any game in this series, so I'm glad to hop onto that train :D
