Jacob says no...

In the course of time I have often mentioned that Antwerp has a large port. But what I've never told you is that Antwerp is also known for something else...Diamonds.

The Antwerp diamond district is the largest in the world and approximately 84% of all rough diamonds in the world are traded here.

I took the photo above in that diamond district. The neighborhood is very old and in dire need of a renovation, but apparently our friend Jacob doesn't want to hear about it.
All the houses and shops around his have already been bought up and demolished to build several new housing blocks... but Jacob doesn't participate and stays proud in his own shop!

However, I wonder if there are still many rich tourists coming to look at his display window... right between the graffiti and garbage bags 😂
